This message is directed towards our close friends, family, fans new & old, acquaintances, co-workers, and the broader music community.
Over the past year, The Ugly Club has been writing and arranging a handful of songs with plans of recording our first full-length record as a band. Since starting this group, we've self-produced/released two EPs that we are proud of and have had great feedback from both our recorded and live music. We are beyond excited to have a record out that you can all enjoy and hopefully dub a favorite amongst your collection. But we need your help!
Recording and releasing an album is expensive. Your generous contributions will help us fund:
-Mastering: This is the final stage of the recording process when everything sonically comes together and the record sounds complete.
-Pressing: We'll need to have hard copies of the album made to send to you after you help us fund this release! This is also for fun stuff like Limited Edition posters, shirts, & vinyl.
-Publicity: We hope to put this record out properly, which means hiring a publicist to build hype around it and get reviews and features in a magazine/blog/newspaper near you ;)
-Video Production: This project will also help fund future video releases we hope to put out. Our great friend and videographer Seiichi Daimo of Music1nFocus Productions has been a vital role in our creative process whether it be filming live performances, acoustic videos, in-studio music videos, or interviews, he is very much a member of The Ugly Club. We hope to better compensate him for his hard work with your generous help!
-Touring: We will be doing a tour during the middle of March hitting cities like Nashville, Houston, and Austin for SXSW week. This costs money. We need some. We also hope to continue to tour regionally throughout the year and this requires financial support.
SO ...with that all said, I'd like to conclude by stating that we are an independent band. We do not have financial support from a record label or any other production company and we welcome you to join our team and be our label "per say" for this release. Our set goal can not alone fund all of our wildest dreams but hey, maybe we'll surpass it and really make things happen! With your help we can put out a piece of art that will hopefully be embraced the way we've embraced our favorite records over the years. Please help us make this possible!
