Update #9 · Oct 19, 2012 · comment

I've posted 59 edited and ready to print image files over on Wordpress

danwellsphoto.wordpress.com

Just e-mail me what you'd like and what size you're getting, along with your mailing address, and I'll send your print out. I'm going to be at PhotoPlus Expo in New York at the end of next week, and will also be at meetings in DC right afterwards, so any order I don't get right away will ship when I return. Cards will be going out in the next couple of weeks as well - I'm just waiting for a bulk box of the gorgeous cardstock I'm using.

Printing is well underway - I'll post image choices over the next day or two

Update #8 · Oct 7, 2012 · comment

Hello all-

I've been busily getting the photos ready to look their best since I came back, and I have quite a few ready to go. Sometime in the next few days, I'll post 40+ choices that are fully edited and ready to print. The printer and paper are ready to go, so I should be shipping prints shortly after I hear what people want.

One last blog update from Point Reyes

Update #7 · Sep 6, 2012 · comment

is up at danwellsphoto.wordpress.com.

The next update will be a summary, probably posted from somewhere in New England, asking people to choose their favorite images for the cards and small prints. I'll put up 40 or so candidates, then use a survey to get it down to everybody's favorite five...

New blog updates over at Wordpress

Update #6 · Aug 19, 2012 · comment

I've just posted several new Wordpress updates, including one with a "greatest hits" collection of images from the first half-plus of the summer. Another recent posting provides a way to order additional images, or for friends who missed the Kickstarter deadline to order images. (forward this to anyone who has asked you)...

I continue to have a wonderful summer and to be making images I am tremendously satisfied with. I'm giving a slideshow to the senior management at the park on Tuesday morning, which I have spent much of the weekend working on...

My blog keeps getting updated!

Update #5 · Aug 4, 2012 · comment

Apologies to those of you who are getting this both through Kickstarter and my regular e-mail list, but I'm posting new updates to my blog at

danwellsphoto.wordpress.com

several times per week... Check it out if you haven't been over there recently - I'm getting some wonderful images, and enjoying myself a great deal. I'm rapidly approaching 8,000 total images, of which there are several hundred favorites on the blog... Here's a storm at McClure's just as a sample...

I’ll send you one randomly selected photo greeting card with an image from Point Reyes this summer, along with an online thank you… I have to print the cards, so, like all the other prints, it’ll probably arrive in the fall.

    Estimated delivery: Oct 2012
  • Pledge $25 or more

A slideshow of the images produced this summer, available via digital download, DVD or Blu-Ray. USB memory key available for $15 additional to cover the cost of the memory key itself.

I’ll send you a pack of five different photo greeting cards, with images selected to tell a bit of the story of Point Reyes and the project.

I’ll send you a signed giclee (French for inkjet) print on the highest-quality archival Baryta paper - your choice of any of the five images I’m using for cards and smaller prints. The paper size is 8.5x11”, with an image size of roughly 7x10”. These prints are suitable for framing

A print of one of the same five images as above, but with a 10x15” image area on 11x17” paper.

    Estimated delivery: Oct 2012

The same as the last two, but a 12x18” image on 13x19” paper.

    Estimated delivery: Oct 2012

A collection of the five best images I got all summer (they’ll be the same as the ones on the cards), all as 7x10” prints suitable for framing.

    Estimated delivery: Oct 2012

A 16x24” print – any image I place online (there will be hundreds to choose from). There is actually quite a bit of work involved in making really good inkjet prints (but, of course, once you get it right once on a given image, you can just click “print” and make multiple prints). I’m restricting the smaller prints to a choice of five to keep from going crazy printing huge numbers of different images, but I’ll make the larger sizes one at a time.

    Estimated delivery: Nov 2012

The collection of five images, printed 12x18”.

A 24x36” print – these are beautiful and huge (once you mat and frame it, it will be nearly 4 feet wide) of any image of your choice.

    Estimated delivery: Nov 2012

Custom 24x36” print of any image plus a professionally printed photo book containing 100 images. I’ll be producing these books using Blurb or something similar, and, unfortunately, the cost per copy is high enough that they can only appear at high reward levels.

    Estimated delivery: Dec 2012

All five 12x18” prints plus custom 24x36” plus book

    1 backer Limited (4 of 5 left)

Customized private two-day nature photo workshop with Dan in California, Vermont or Massachusetts plus a custom 24x36”print. Scheduling is at your convenience – you can either catch me while I’m still at Point Reyes, or find me in Vermont or Massachusetts upon my return. I can work with any level of photographer, and can cover a very wide range of topics from how to use your camera to exposure, composition, editing, software and/or printing. If you’re new to serious photography, I can help you get up to speed. If you have some experience, I can help you find your vision. If technology is holding you back, I can help you untangle it (just about any camera, most printers, primarily Macs on the computer side – I can help with some photographic aspects of Windows, but don’t really understand the operating system).

    Estimated delivery: Aug 2012

All five representative images printed 24x36” – this will be absolutely gorgeous, but take a lot of wall space! Replace any image you care to with a custom choice.

    1 backer Limited (4 of 5 left)

Hand printed, hand bound photo book with each page an original print, limited edition of seven copies (five available here plus one each for my use and for the National Seashore). This is NOT a Blurb book – each image is printed individually, and Massachusetts artist Claire Dacey and I will make a custom binding. There is a photographic tradition of producing extremely limited-edition portfolio books, which are each an individual work of art, and this is offered in that spirit. I really wish I could offer this at a less expensive level, but the amount of work and money that will go into each copy is extraordinary (it’s basically 100 individual prints, handmade and handbound).

    Estimated delivery: Jan 2013
