Oscar Wilde’s THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST is high comedy and one of the world’s most enduringly popular plays.
THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST by Oscar Wilde (World famous wit and raconteur, poet and playwright) is the ultimate in classic comic theatrical entertainment. THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, or “A Trivial Comedy for Serious People,” comes to the Performing Arts Center in time to make spring really SPRING!
Two young men-about-London, Jack Worthing and his friend Algernon Moncrieff, who use fictitious identities in order to escape burdensome social obligations and Lady Bracknell, are Wilde’s comic creations in a play that pokes fun at marriage, love, and Victorian society. World famous for its many witty lines such as: “If I am occasionally a little over-dressed, I make up for it by being immensely over-educated” and “In married life, three is company, and two is none,”
THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST is high comedy and one of the world’s most enduringly popular plays. Want to enjoy the amazing entanglements that Jack and Algernon create as they try to get around the wonderful obstacle of Lady Bracknell? You will have to join us for Tri-State’s production of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST May 31 – June 17 to see it all!
We have exciting things planned for our production of this classic play and are already deep into the production process. However, being a small non-profit theater company, we need help to make our show a wonderful success. Our goal from this Kickstarter campaign is to raise $5,000 to help bring our production of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST from pre-production and the rehearsal hall to the stage of the beautiful Performing Arts Center at Sussex Community College, Newton, NJ, where we are in residence. (SCCC does not fund our productions.)
Most of the funds raised will be used to:
• Pay the talented actors and technicians who help us make this production a success—(We are the only permanent professional Equity theatre company in the Sussex County, NJ, NE Pennsylvania, and south central New York region.)
• Create an effective print, online, and radio marketing campaign
• Rent/Purchase quality set pieces, costumes, and props to bring the show to life.
These are very real costs for a quality production and are essential elements when mounting a successful professional, regional production for our audiences.
This is where you can help by making a difference.
If you like what you see, please considering donating to help us create an unforgettable theatre production. Large or small, your contribution will help to bring a deeply affecting work of art to fruition.
And remember to reserve your tickets for Tri-State Theater’s production of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, playing May 31 – June 17 at Performing Arts Center, Sussex County Community College, Newton , NJ. We hope to see you there!
