Kickstarter

On June 20, I went into the Music Lab at the Jefferson Center in Roanoke, VA with Andrew Shillito (guitar), Grayson Hackelman (bass), and Daniel Faust (drums). I've worked with these 3 young musicians off and on for the last few years, and it was a pleasure to record with them. In a whirlwind 3-1/2 hour session Jake Dempsey (a consummate pro with great book recommendations) recorded us playing 8 songs: my three-movement suite inspired by the visual art of Trenton Doyle Hancock, plus Herbie Hancock's "The Sorcerer", Miles Davis' "Frelon Brun", Bernstein/Sondheim's "Maria", plus the old warhorse standards "I Don't Stand A Ghost Of A Chance With You" (V. Young) and "Day In, Day Out" (J. Mercer). I am thoroughly pleased with the music and the captured sound, and I'm eager to share it with you all, especially so you can hear how great Andrew, Grayson, and Daniel sounded. In order to finish the record (final mastering by the great Rob "Wacko" Hunter, artwork, disc production, licensing, etc.), I estimate that I will need around $1500. This is where you come in....I cannot do this without you. I am producing a limited number of discs to minimize my licensing costs, but it still more than I can handle on my own.
