I have been a photographer and custom framer for around ten years and I love the craft! I also have been lucky enough to be the smallest part of a growing method of photography called iPhoneography (shooting with an iPhone or another cellular device) and seeing that bring back toy camera photography like Lomography. Toy camera photography is so fun, creative, and relatable. I have also seen the growing online stores and galleries that expand this community while improving these photographer's skills. I also see IT'S ONLY ONLINE!!! (yes except for a couple Lomo galleries) That is crazy to me so, I would like to give this community a place to go and learn, teach, play, relate, test ideas, test equipment, and simply hang out. That will be 5.6 PiX. YOU'RE DONATIONS make this happen. You can opt out of the rewards if you so choose and you can pick any amount donate, it does't have to be one listed. There are lots of options. It's the community that finds this that will keep it running. We appreciate every little bit!

Who 5.6 is:

5.6 PiX is the place where artists meet. 5.6 PiX is a specialty retail store offering a large array of toy cameras, photography materials and supplies, a gallery, and an education center. We will provide a pleasant facility that will inspire and support amateurs, hobbyists, and professionals in the Charlotte photography community. 5.6PiX will sponsor art shows, competitions, and other community events; facilitate, organize and offer creative workshops and classes in a variety of techniques and media. 5.6 PiX is at the forefront in an exciting and growing market. 5.6 PiX is founded on the idea that maintaining satisfied customers is essential to the bottom line. With this in mind, 5.6 PiX will be working hard to ensure that all of their customers' expectations are exceeded in all transactions. To maintain a presence within the arts & crafts community and close relationships to customers, 5.6 PiX will be an active member of the local art scene through participation and education. Our staff will receive training in the most current trends and products and 5.6 Pix's owner will anticipate and set consumer trends in creative work.

5.6 PiX is a new company to be launched in the coming year that will create a  community, combining arts and technology with knowledgable staff and high level customer service. Whether you are a pro, hobbyist, student or teacher or simply curious we will have something that will spark your interest. I believe the people that make photography should be able to afford it. We will always be glad to hear any and all feedback on our products and services.

Where does the cash go???

The cash goes to securing a brick and mortar location, setting up the location, building a website, buying retail stock to sell, setting up the grand opening gallery show and paying a few independent contractors to round out the team it will take to make this happen.
