Update #3: James student worshop assistant for Artist Exchange
Update #2: Hiroko and James recent Collaboration
Dear Backers,
Here is an update of Hiroko To and James Gayles' recent collaboration. Two weeks ago, Hiroko visited Oakland to catch up on business here in the bay area. One of her recent business ventures was a first draft collaboration project of a commemorative plaque that will be installed in Fukuoka, Japan as part of Oakland-Fukuoka's 50th anniversary.
This commemorative plaque, will be celebrated this May 2012 during Fukuoka's famous Hakata Dontaku festival. Congradulations to these two artists. We will post more video and image updates soon.
Thank you,
Eric Murphy, Hiroko To, James Gayles, Oakland-Fukuoka Sister City Association

Dear Backers,
We would like to thank you for your support and believing in our project. We have many updates to provide you including the collaborative artwork by Hiroko and James in progress, which we have a first draft of. In the meantime we would like to introduce you to Fukuoka International Affairs visitors, Ms. Mariko, Mr. Suzuki, & Ms. Satome who was kind enough to visit Oakland and the Bay Area to discuss plans for the Artist Exchange and the 50th Anniversary.
Part of this discussion is in regards to James and Hiroko collaborating on another project, which will be a combined image on a ceramic plate that will be installed in the Fukuoka's garden's which is a mirror to Oakland's Lake Merritt Gardens which will be part of the 50th commemoration during their famous Dontaku Festival.
More updates on the project, introduction to James' traveling assistant, Penny and more soon.
