Just over a year ago, I embarked on a journey to follow my dream and put the story of Grace Murphy into people's hands. I have been blessed to have received such a positive response to the first two novels, and now I can't wait to get these babies on PAPER! Volcanoes is the third chapter in Grace's new life and really, I couldn't be more excited to share it!
Eventually, every writer is posed with a question: Seek a publisher or be happy being independent?
I want to stay independent. I think that traditionally published authors are amazing and I appreciate all of the hard work they put into their books. But I don't want to go that route. I like being able to deliver new, quality stories to you on my schedule. I love that I get to choose my editor and cover art. I love being able to interact with readers on a daily basis! Everything about being independent speaks to me as a writer.
The problem is one of exposure. Without a huge publishing house behind me, it's nearly impossible to get the exposure needed to publish and sell books on a scale that could be considered "successful." That in mind, I've put together a plan to get my books not just on eReaders, but also bookstores across the country by this time next year. The first step, is drumming up support and getting these books in print through this Kickstarter. Then it's onward to store shelves! It will take lots of hard work on my part and I'm ready for it, but I need your support behind me.
So, for your patronage to this Kickstarter, you're not only pre-buying the novel Volcanoes, but you'll be telling the world: "I support independent author's books, digitally or printed."

About Grace Murphy:
Nicole Hamlett's Grace Murphy novels are a beloved Urban Fantasy series featuring a heroine who is real, raw and whiny. What else do I need to know?
- This Kickstarter will be available for PLEDGES July 1 through July 20th.
- If successful, your generous PLEDGES will be charged to your designated account on July 20th.
- REMEMBER! You won't be charged ANYTHING unless we reach our goal of $1000 by July 20th.
- Aside from the advance copy of Volcanoes, all rewards will be delivered within 6 to 8 weeks of the close of this Kickstarter. Collaboration rewards will begin within 6 to 8 weeks. Actually delivery of stories depend on the creative process.
