Book Release Status to Backers

Update #18 · Jun 18, 2012 · 3 comments

Attention Backers!

Tales of the Emerald Serpent has now been drafted in both epub and mobi editions as well as been made available by POD at Lulu.com.  This was put into practice to ensure that all copies were correctly formatted, but my copy editor on the book decided to post the Amazon link on Facebook before I even knew Amazon had accepted it!

This has therefore caused some confusion among backers.  Currently, as of June 18th the digital versions of the book have not been sent out to backers.  As we have nearly 600 backers, and I send digital versions to you all personally, I’ve scheduled the full release over the next six days.  That means 100 of you will be getting copies of the release per day.

All physical trade paperbacks have been ordered and will be coming out to you once they are shipped to me, but we are still well within our release schedule.

I hope this addresses some questions coming in to my email box concerning status.  Again, thank you for all your support and your books will be coming out this week so keep an eye out for them.

Best,
Scott

Cover Update and more Art of the Genre

Update #17 · May 31, 2012 · comment

Hello all!

I wanted to pass along the final cover design for Emerald Serpent as well as a few other pieces from the interior.  Also, there are only three more days for Art of the Genre's current Kickstarter novel, The Burning City, so if you are inclined to continue supporting our work, then here is the link:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/563681582/the-burning-city-a-dark-fantasy-tour-de-force

That particular project is trying to meet its first stretch goal which will double the interior artwork, so we do still need your help!

In Emerald Serpent news, the book should have the final copy edits complete by Monday as well as the remainder of the interior illustrations.  This puts us on schedule for our release dates just like all our other books, and that's something I'm proud of.  In this business, it's very important to keep your promises, so I'm burning the midnight oil to see that happen.

Todd Lockwood has completed the Emerald Serpent cover as well as the illustration for the story 'Between' and I'll be posting both below.  You also get to take a look at Janet Aulisio's guest illustration for Lynn Flewelling's story 'Namesake'.  This artwork is a huge piece of what we are about here at Art of the Genre, and your support helps us put the absolute best product possible back out to you.

As always, I love to hear your feedback, so please take a moment to write!

Best,

Scott
