           Jacob’s Coal is an international worship band

                                living in Targu Mures, Romania.

Starting now and going through the summer, we are producing a worship album of original praise and worship songs in both Romanian and English in an effort to encourage local Christian artists to start writing their own songs.     

As an outsider in Romania, it’s easy to notice that the songs used in the church are familiar, only translated into the Romanian language. In learning the language, we’ve realized that the translations often don’t reflect the intent and heart of the composer. Romanians have also commented on the fact that the songs don’t truly communicate their culture or correct usage of their language.

We recognized the need for Romanians to write their own songs and melodies to God, expressing the Romanian heart and culture in their praise and worship. 

                          This is how Jacob’s Coal came into being…   

In the bible, Jacob was the third generation after Abraham, and it was Jacob's children who multiplied and filled the promise land. Abraham had the promise from God, but it was Jacob's generation who saw it come to pass.

We want to be that generation, the one who is going out, to see worship grow and multiply throughout Romania and the world.

The word Coal refers to the fuel, providing heat and power. It’s not a bright light, such as a flame, but an intense heat which lasts long after the flame has passed. Our heart is to see the Worship of God like a coal which continues even after we’ve finished our gathering, as it continues to burn throughout our day to day lives.

We realize we are not the first ones to carry this vision. We’re stepping in footsteps of courageous men and women who rose up after the fall of Communism over 20 years ago. Yet too few raised their voices. 

Our vision is to restore a nation's song, a nation whose creativity was stifled by the stronger voice of control and manipulation.

We want to encourage and  inspire Christians to rise up, taking their place in the Kingdom of God, writing their own songs and bringing them as an offering to the only one that is worthy of worship- God.

We believe that in Heaven, people from every nation or ethnic group will bow and worship in front of the throne of God. Here and now we are starting the Great Rehearsal for Heaven.

Incepand de acum si pe toata perioada verii, producem un album cu cantece originale de lauda si inchinare atat in limba romana cat si engleza. Dorinta noastra este ca, prin acest proiect sa incurajam artistii crestini romani sa compuna cantece.

Ca si strain, am observat ca multe cantece din biserica imi sunt familiare, fiind traduse din engleza in romana. Dupa ce am invatat limba, am descoperit ca in multe cazuri traducerile nu reflecta intentia si inima compozitorului. De asemenea, romanii au sugerat ca multe cantece nu sunt relevante din punct de vedere cultural si gramatical.

E nevoie ca romanii sa compuna cantece care sa exprime esenta culturii romanesti in lauda si inchinare.

                          Cum a luat fiinta proiectul Jacob’s coal...

 

In Biblie, Iacov este a treia generatie dupa Avraam si copiii lui Iacov au fost cei care s-au inmultit si au ocupat tara promisa. Avraam a avut promisiunea de la Dumnezeu, insa generatia lui Iacov a fost cea care a vazut-o implinindu-se.

Noi vrem sa fim acea generatie, care paseste in afara granitelor sa vada inchinarea crescand la un al nivel in toata Romania si chiar in lumea intreaga.

Cuvantul coal = carbune se refera la combustibilul care produce caldura si energie. Nu este vorba despre o lumina puternica ca si flacara, ci de o caldura intensa care ramane chiar si dupa ce flacara s-a stins. Dorinta noastra este sa vedem inchinarea ca un carbune care ramane aprins chiar si dupa terminarea intalnirilor si arde in vietile noastre in fiecare zi.

Stim ca nu suntem primii cu aceasta viziune. Pasim pe urmele unor femei si barbati curajosi care s-au ridicat dupa caderea comunismului in urma cu mai bine de 20 de ani. Putini au fost insa cei care s-au facut auziti.

Viziunea noastra este sa restauram cantecul unei natiuni a carei creativitate a fost inabusita de vocea puternica a controlului si manipularii.

 

Vrem sa incurajam si sa inspiram crestinii sa se ridice, sa-si ocupe locul in Imparatia lui Dumnezeu, prin compunerea de cantece si prezentarea lor inaintea Celui care singur este vrednic de inchinare – Dumnezeu.

In cer, oameni din fiecare natiune si grupare etnica se vor inchina inaintea tronului lui Dumnezeu. Aici si acum noi incepem marea Repetitie pentru Cer.

    Va informam ca transportul international dureaza mai mult decat o livrare normala. Ne vom da toata silinta sa va trimitem albumul cu o saptamana inaintea lansarii oficiale, dar din cauza conditiilor de livrare, nu putem garanta (cu exceptia celor din SUA si Canada) ca il veti primi inainte de data lansarii oficiale.
