HAT OF ETERNAL DREAMS is a short film by producing partners Jeffery Aguirre and Lynnette Gryseels under our production company, Double L Ranch Productions.

Written and directed by Jeffery Aguirre and produced by Lynnette Gryseels, HAT OF ETERNAL DREAMS is a black comedy about a flying fedora, tooth decay, elevator music, meeting your nemesis, and confronting your greatest fears. The story focuses on Paul, who is willing to do just about anything to miss the root canal he has scheduled in the morning. But his dream to stay asleep forever is ruined by Claude, a tormenting alter ego who pushes Paul to the very brink.

Now we need your help

In the fall we scraped together a few dollars and shot the film over three days.  We now have a rough edit version and unfortunately, we have no funds available to complete the film.

How rough is it?  Well, it’s pretty good in our (biased) opinion.  But, we still need to complete color correction, do our final sound mix, hire a composer to create an original score and/or license some music, and create our HD screening tapes.

Once complete, we would like for people to be able to see our film on a big screen so we plan to submit to film festivals.  So we need funds for film festival fees and expenses. 

We think $6000 should about cover finishing expenses.  We just want to raise enough to complete the project.  The total cost of this project, including our out-of-pocket expenses that have funded the film thus far is much more, but we’re asking for you to help us finish.  A dream would be to exceed our Kickstarter goal then we could fund the whole film!  If we exceed our $6000 goal, we will use the remaining funds to pay off our credit cards that are sort of hovering at the limit and get Pluto (the cat) back from the pawnshop.  So far expenses have included paying professionals for camera operation, recording sound, camera rental, crew, transportation, crew parking and props etc.  We would like to thank everyone who has generously donated their time and services to help us get this far.

So… like all filmmakers, we’re very needy. We would like your help.

We’re all big fans of crowdfunding and have helped other filmmakers realize their goals. Now we’re asking you to be a part of our project through Kickstarter by helping us raise funds to complete our film.

About the actors

Michael Lazarovitch is a Canadian born actor based in Los Angeles and Toronto. Michael received his undergrad at the BFA Acting Conservatory at Ryerson Theatre School in Toronto and attended the Collaborative Arts Project 21 at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.  His recent film and television work includes SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD with Michael Cera; IT'S A BOY GIRL THING with Kevin Zegers and Sharon Osbourne; ABC Family and Cartoon Network's TOTALLY SPIES series; and Enrico Collantoni's LOVE, I THINK.  Michael's work can be seen on HBO, Showtime and Channel 4 UK as well as on stages across Canada and the US.  Most recently, Michael can be heard singing the leading role of Eddie on the Broadway Studio Cast Recording of COME SUMMER, along side Broadway legends Carole Cook and Barbara Sharma.

Eric Monjoin is a French actor based in Los Angeles.  He studied acting in Paris at École Internationale de Théâtre Béatrice Brout and later in Los Angeles at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.  He started as a model and worked for eight years traveling the world and doing several commercials. His recent commercial for Heineken won three Gold Lions, a Silver and a Bronze in Cannes this year, a DGA Award nomination and British Arrow Nomination for best actor, which encouraged him to move to Los Angeles and pursue acting. Eric is the new face of the brand Desigual and has been seen recently in the commercials for DirecTV and Garnier.
