So I guess the world didn't end in 2012.

Walter Sickert and the ARmy of BRoken TOys played FirstNight in Boston last night, and by all accounts they rocked the Hynes Convention Center into the FUTURE!

As for me? I was here at my computer putting the finishing touches the fundraiser for the LAB's next show: Lunar Labyrinth.

We're collaborating with a dozen of our favorite local performers to bring a new, unpublished short story by author Neil Gaiman to the stage on February 13, 2013 at Oberon in Harvard Square. Each collaborator is taking a part of the story and bringing it to life using music, dance, aerial performance, puppetry, poetry, storytelling, and more.

Well, 28 Seeds is all wrapped up.

We had soooo much fun with this show and we hope you did too! All of the Kickstarter backer rewards have now been sent out. (Most of them hand-addressed by yours truly!) Tweet pictures of your rewards with hashtag #28Seeds or post them on Facebook.

So what's next for all of us?

- Well the LAB is going to the Big Apple next month to present Le Cabaret Grimm at the New York Musical Theatre Festival. This is a perfect opportunity for our NYC backers to see us in action! For more information and tickets, visit www.nymf.org

- We're also at work to put up TWO shows next season. The first will be a one-night-only event this winter directed by Steven Bogart (who you may know as the director of Cabaret at the ART) and some other super exciting as-yet-unannounced collaborators.

As for the Toys, I have a hard time keeping up with everything they're doing, but I'll give it a shot:

- On July 1, the band plays a Monster Masquerade show with Jaggery and Bent Knee at Radio in Somerville. Details and ticket link are here. I'll be there! Will you?

- Then on July 3 they're playing the paperback release party of Erin Morgenstern's book The Night Circus at Brookline Booksmith. There will be food, drink, circus performers, and a special prize for the attendee in the best Night Circus Costume. Details on THAT are here. 

- Walter's art is showing up EVERYWHERE, including in Amanda Palmer's art gallery with art by the likes of Frances Bean Cobain, Neil Gaiman, and Shepard Fairey.
