About this project
My whole purpose of posting guitar lessons on YouTube is to provide free, detailed instruction, in hopes of inspiring others to pick up guitar, and to share what took me years to figure out on my own. I wish I had good lessons when I was first starting out so I'm trying my best to give beginners the advantage I didn't have. I'm not the best and I don't claim to be; just trying to share what I know.
So after three years of teaching finger style acoustic guitar on Youtube using my built in webcam, I decided it was time to upgrade to a higher quality camera. Originally, I planned on selling my main guitar of 5 years to fund it but then my amazing friends on YouTube talked me out of it. Many were even generous enough to offer donations! Because of the response I got, I decided to give Kickstarter a shot.
I've never made a penny from teaching guitar lessons on YouTube because I feel like quality guitar lessons should be accessible to everyone. But just this time, I'm asking for your help. A better camera will benefit everyone who watches the videos recorded with it.
The pledges I receive will go towards a new Canon T2i camera. My hope is that the new camera will make my lessons much clearer and easier to watch. Maybe even more people will be inspired to pick up the guitar! The camera itself is 900 dollars, I realize this is a lot of money but if all my subscribers just pledge $1 then I would be able to buy 5 of them! (I'm not going to) But with all the support from my viewers, I am confident we can reach this goal. IF we raise over $900, the extra money will be reinvested in better equipment such as video editing software, microphones, lenses, stands, etc... anything to make the highest quality YouTube videos possible for you guys.
