We've reached our goal!
As of 12:14PM today, we have raised a total of $4,079 to go toward building Chicago's first yard sharing network! Thank you to everyone who helped us meet our goal! We cannot explain how excited we are to make this network happen and there is no way we could have done it without your support!
While the double donation period is over (the matching funds were exhausted at the $4,000 mark), the fundraising window is still open through Friday at 10:42 AM CDT! All donations above the $4,000 mark will go toward making our gardens even more fun, inclusive, and community centered! Based on funding in the next forty hours, we will commit to creating the following garden enhancements:
If we raise a total of $4,150, we'll build a bike cart to pick up food bank donations, transport tools, and provide other types of mobile support to gardeners in the network.
If we raise a total of $4,400, we'll install a community tool shed to be shared by all gardeners within the network.
If we raise a total of $4,500, we'll build a fire circle for community gatherings in one of the yards. (permission already granted!)
If we raise $4,800, we will provide compost bins to each of our backyard gardens.
If we raise any amount over $4,800, we will put the money towards additional tools, plants, learning resources, and other items that will enhance the productivity and inclusiveness of each space!
And now, the only way we really know how to say thank you, enjoy this photo of our 3 day old baby chickens!
