About this project
Air Traffic Controller and Bleu have been dreaming about album #2 since before The One was even released. We're so excited about making this record and releasing it on a larger scale than was ever possible before anyone knew about ATC. This could be ... kind of a big deal!
Cranking out an album independently has its benefits, but it's still a tall order for any artist. After spending it all (and then some) to make, release, and promote The One, doing another album now is just beyond our means. ... BUT then came the Kickstarter idea!
Please don't consider this a charity case, honestly it would be difficult to just accept donations (difficult.. not impossible!). You could consider this a Pre-sale, Tee-sale, or a fun way to get involved with a band you love (c'mon .. admit it.).
Involved.. you ask? Look on the right side of this page and you'll see the list of rewards for backing this project. These are unique opportunities to do things like: receive personalized merchandise, have your name or a picture in the album artwork; be a part of the recording process; star in an ATC music video, host a party in which some or all of ATC performs, ... stuff like that.
If we can meet or exceed our goal, every penny raised here will be used in the production, manufacturing, distribution, and promotion for Air Traffic Controller's 2nd album. I started a little indie label, Sugarpop Records, to keep everything organized and utilize this entire resource to make this new album release a success. As you can see below, ATC is no slouch, we've been racking up some nice creds, but we've got a long way to go. We need this next album to keep moving forward!

A Collaboration - Tell me a story you find interesting, or tell me everything about someone you love, or maybe someone you hate with a passion, and I will write a song for you. I'll record it well, and even get Bleu and Ducky to help me make it great. Maybe even release it someday, but for this, it will be delivered to only you. This was a toughy, because I normally only write from personal experience, but this Kickstarter thing has got me thinking way outside the box. I can't wait to do this one! Serving in the US Navy as a real-life air traffic controller, singer/songwriter Dave Munro sent home 4-track demo tapes of songs written during his deployment. With his enlistment up, Munro returned to hometown Boston and discovered an impressive number of fans, prompting the genesis of the aptly-named rock band Air Traffic Controller. Accolades and award nominations soon followed; as did airplay on tastemaker radio stations such as 92.5 the River, WFNX and WERS, and coverage in publications such as Business Week, Boston Herald, Performer Magazine, Boston Globe and the Boston Phoenix.
