Limited Edition Stash Groove “DL” Record Handbag – 

My name is Kristy and I run Stash Groove, an apparel and accessory division of Formulated Lines. I wanted to create a handbag for music lovers of all genres of music. Introducing the Limited Edition Stash Groove "DL" record handbag.

When I was laid off from my Raytheon NCS in 2011, after working as full-time designer for several years, I saw the opportunity to complete this handbag project I had started 5 years ago. 

After all the designs were conceived and drawn on paper I choose the fabrics and raw materials, designed a mold to replicate a LP 12” record as well as the stitching that keeps this handbag together. I also had to create the packaging from scratch along with the layout of the necklace and accessories in it. To sum it up … this is truly my passion! 

These handbags are made out of a special durable vinyl material that will not melt in the sun, crack or break. This is the reason why our pledge goal is higher than average. Not to mention that these handbags are put together and stitched individually to be able to achieve its special design. The inside is lined with suede with our original graphic pattern print.

I like to be unique and know that I’m wearing a handbag that won’t be found just anywhere. The graphics on the Limited Edition Stash Groove “DL” handbag are exclusive for this season. Also, these handbags wipe-off easily, and as a mom-on-the-go I can tell you they can take some serious abuse! I’ve worn my sample handbag for almost 4 years and it is still rocking!!

The Plan

Me and our Stash Groove team of dedicated people are ready to produce these handbags, but we need funding … that’s why I’m here, If we meet our pledge goal we will be able to: 

• Purchase the order of Limited Edition Stash Groove “DL” handbags – remember, the manufacturer will only produce a large number of units at one time because of its unique material. 

• Storage, ship and handle all of your orders. These bags come in their own custom-made box, so we must protect them for safe travels across air, land and sea. 

Once we received the order of handbags from our manufacturing house, we will ship them to their destinations. These will get to you in November 2012, and they will make great Christmas gifts for your family and friends.

Who is Kristy?

After graduating from Ringling College of Art & Design in 2002 with a BFA in Illustration I started the company Formulated Lines, Because we want to help everyone Formulated Lines tackles all kinds of projects which has given us experience in motion graphics, post production, branding, product development, apparel, interior decoration and mural art. Some of Formulated Lines clients are: Raytheon NCS, The City of Safety Harbor, Pepin Distributing Company, Crossover Church, Brighthouse Networks, The Investigator movie, MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, and many more.

I took my love of music and mixed it with my design, illustrative skills, and business sense to create Stash Groove, which is a division of Formulated Lines.

I’m a very passionate visual artist and designer … but I love dancing too!! I toured for several years as a BGIRL (a.k.a. Eenk) with several musicians and crews. All together danced for a decade. It was a blast but when my daughter was born I decided to settle down and concentrate on design work, so I could be home for her. She and I are now dancing buddies!!!

FAQ

Q. What is a "headshell"?A. On a record player, the headshell is attached to the end of a turntable's "tone arm" and the needle cartridge is bolted to it.

Q. Does it come in other colors? A. Hopefully in the future we will have more funding to run other colors, however right now we are trying to raise the $ to produce just this style "DL".

Q. Will my teenager like it? A. Yes. We have surveyed hundreds of teen girls between the ages of 13-18, 95% said they would buy it now if it was available. They may not have ever played a record, However they loved it, especially the fact it represented music.

Q. Would my Grandmother like it? A. Not sure? But records were during their era and it would definitely be a great gift for them to travel down memory lane.

Q. Is this a real recycled record? A. This is not made from a recycled 12 inch record, this is made from a record mold that we designed to replicate the look and feel of a LP. It has the fine grooves just as a record would.

Q. Will this melt in the sun or break like an actual record would? A. No. it is made with a special vinyl material that makes it extremely durable for a woman's around-the-clock agenda.

Q. How long are the straps of the purse? A. They hang 11.5 inches from shoulder, and are 23 inches total length.

Q. How long is the Necklace chain? A. it is 18 inches and the clasp fits into the chain holes to allow you to shorten the chain as a choker if desired.

Q. What is the size of the purse? A. 12 inches in width and 6 inches high, just like a 12 inch LP cut in half.

Q. What material is the purse fabric? A. Vinyl on outside and suede on inside lining.

Q. What size is the pocket? A. Large enough to fit any smart phone and keys.

Q. Is there artwork on the record sides of the purse? A. Yes there is subtle designs made from Stash Groove on all sides of the purse. using reflective silver ink - to give that extra elegance.

Q. How durable is the Stash Groove "DL" Handbag? A. I have worn my prototype for close to 4 years, almost every day- and it is still in great condition

Q. Will the Necklace and Charm tarnish? A. They are made from a silver metal that is also durable, however with any silver it tarnishes. You just need to buff it every once in a while and it will be back shinning like new again. I wear my necklace when I go out, and I take it off when I get home, and I have never had a problem.

Q. What can I submit for artwork on my custom Stash Groove record handbag? A. almost anything. We have a team of illustrators, designers, we will have no problem customizing One "DL" Handbag for you.
