Update #3: 95%! Almost there!

Posted on March 4, 2011

Alright folks. 39 hours left. We're comin' down to the wire! We've raised 95% and we're still going strong!

I wanted to take a second and tell you about a show we have coming up. Blackbird Cathedral is playing at The Outland in Springfield, MO on April 1st with The End of the Ocean and Black Box Revue. It's an Artwalk night for anyone who's savvy on that.

The End of the Ocean is a great band from Ohio and Black Box Revue is a local Springfield phenomenon.

The End of the Ocean just released a new album this last week entitled

Pacific•Atlantic

You can listen to and download it here and you can buy it in tangible beautiful splendor here.

If you'd like to RSVP for the show, the Facebook event is here and the Last.FM event is here.

Again, thank you all for your help! We'll be getting with you soon after our funding ends to get your names, addresses, etc., and we'll attack the production of the album art and other rewards immediately afterward to get this all taken care of as soon as possible.

We are so excited to get our music to you!

Blessings,

Blackbird Cathedral

Update #2: Almost 75%!

Posted on February 28, 2011

A big THANK YOU to everyone who has pledged so far! We're at 74% and going strong! There are only 5 days left, so please please please spread the word on FB and Twitter!

To show our appreciation and gratitude, we would like to offer you this chance to hear our new album's sixth track, "Fear & Trembling."

Enjoy! (and click here to hear another track entitled "Roan")

Update #1: Almost 50%!

Posted on February 10, 2011

A big thanks to everyone who has backed us so far! We're almost halfway there!

Remember, this cd couldn't happen without all your help. If you haven't already pledged but think you'll ever want to pick up our album, then this is the time. If we surpass our goal, there will be bonus rewards for everyone! :)

We're über-excited about all the support and we love and respect you all!

As a thank-you for all the early pledging, here is another track from our album for you to check out! This is the eighth track on the disc; a little tune we like to call Roan.

Enjoy!

BbC is a post-rock band from Springfield, MO.

Basic models of flocking behavior are controlled by three simple rules:

1. Separation: avoid crowding neighbors
2. Alignment: steer towards average heading of neighbors
3. Cohesion: steer towards average position of neighbors

With these three simple rules, the flock moves in an extremely realistic way, creating complex motion and interaction that would be extremely hard to create otherwise.

...there is an anisotropy with regard to this cohesive tendency, with more cohesion being exhibited towards neighbors to the sides of the bird, rather than in front or behind.

...In flocking simulations, there is no central control; each bird behaves autonomously. In other words, each bird has to decide for itself which flocks to consider as its environment. Usually environment is defined as a circle (2D) or sphere (3D) with a certain radius (representing reach).
