I've left it a little vague because it's a little vague to us. ;) We sent EVERYTHING to the printer overseas a couple months ago. They've already shipped it, but now it has to get here and clear customs, which is what we can't quite control. Then we put it all together and ship it out.

We think we'll put the final survey up in late May, at which point it should just be a few more weeks before we get the physical shipment and have them ready to go.

      Thanks!

      Shane

Ok, so, when you say "two months", do you mean roughly two months later than the March 2013 date, or do you mean 2 months from Tax day, which is when you said it'd be about 2 more months (meaning June-ish)? Then it's just a matter of putting together... What? Just under 800 packages? Hooo boy. Glad I got into politics instead of logistics.

    6. Shane_petroglyph.small

Creator Shane Hensley on April 16

@Kenny: Correct. We'll be shipping *everything* together.

    7. Missing_small

Creator kenny perry on April 16

Wait I think I misunderstood initially; so all the books are printing and shipping in 2 months, not just the companion?

    8. Shane_petroglyph.small

Creator Shane Hensley on April 15

@Ross: Nope. Everything is at the printer and we're just waiting to hear when it will be state-side (should be about two more months). When we get the final date from customs we'll put up the Final Survey to get your add-ons, addresses, etc, then we'll ship it out.

      Thanks!

    10. Shane_petroglyph.small

Creator Shane Hensley on March 15

We came in about two months late with the last book (the Companion--mostly because we all overwrote!) We delivered several digital extras to (hopefully!) make up for the delay. Everything is currently at the printer and we should have it in and shipping within the next 90 days. Printing and shipping (via actual ship!) usually takes about that long.

      Thanks!

      Shane

I happened to notice that in the online store it says the physical cooks of the main book will be shipping in march, but the companion says july, I wonder if that is an error or if there will be that much of delay between the two books.

      Hey,
Just got time to go trhough the companion and I am lovin' it of course. I do find the lable on the Petersen’s Asylum map hard to read on the checkerd background. I wonder if it will be better in the hardcopy.

      @Tim
One of the big differences between good ol' Deadlands and Savage Worlds is the speed of combat. If you're shooting for 5-10 hrs. (in one sitting) you may want to place in game breaks where the players can heal up.
I'm currently playing HoE reloaded (4 hrs weekly, one of which are usually spent catching up and table chatter) and we usually cover a fairly lengthy adventure adventure. That said; When I converted and ran Canyon o' Doom, it took about six sessions (I can't really remember exactly). Converted Dime Novels still run at a single night gaming, depending on how focused the players are.

      Tim:
I just ran the first part of the Red Harvest campaign tonight. Three players using Archetypes, in just a couple hours we got right up to the finale of Part One. I'd think you'd be able to do Parts One and Two easily in an evening. I have not run Absinthe yet as I was going to put it in around Part Three (as I read John Goff said he did on the Peginc forums).

I have a question for those more familiar with "Modern" Deadlands and Savage Worlds in General.

I am planning to, in late February, take my play group an a Savage Worlds/Deadlands Noir test drive. I really want something we can finish in 5-10 hours.

I remember the old Dime Novels (Deadlands Classic) could be "blown through" in one or two sessions. Is that true of current Dime Novels, like "Old Absinthe Blues"?

The goal is a Demo so that everyone can try the system and style without spending a crap ton of time on Characters and me working a campaign. So if someone won't be a fit, we can find out early. (There's a big difference between playing Risk Legacy and playing a serious RPG.) So my Idea was use the Archetypes and "The Old Absinthe Blues".

      Thoughts/suggestions/ideas?

    18. Fb_profile_picture.small

Creator Tim J. Meyer on January 16

@Da Mayor - That matches what I heard a while back, but I was hoping to get it all shipped as one, and to know prices before hand, often backers save a couple bucks for putting up the capitol. I need to know what to ask from individual players offering to comp some of the cost.

@Tim - What *I* was told when I took office was that the only thing that would be completely exclusive to the KS was the PI badge. Everything else should become available via retail, including Dry Erase maps, custom bennies, minis, and pads of campaign posters for you to put up all over your neighborhood. I guess you should keep an eye on the website as the hard copy becomes available.

    21. Fb_profile_picture.small

When I backed this, I had never read or played Savage Worlds.

I was backing because I LOVE Deadlands, even though I hadn't played anything Deadlands, Except Doomtown, in over a decade.Since This KS, I have also backed the Raven GN and HoE Minis.

But my newly formed RPG playgroup? They wants the Nor goodness. And it has come up: "Tim, can you get some of the stuff that you aren't getting in your current backing level?" Things like Dry-erase maps, print figure flats, GM screen, etc.

I remember that it was said that we could get copies of Savage Worlds Deluxe on the cheap shipped with our Noir (but since I'm getting 2 copies free with my HoE minis...) How about other stuffs? Will we be able to ala carte extras we didn't get/didn't know we wanted/couldn't afford at the time of the KS?

Just curious as they are hoping to chip in as March approaches, and I need to know what to tell them.

So I have been running an ongoing Deadlands Classic game on and off for the last 7 years, and thankfully the group has stayed mostly intact during it. The posse is based in Oklahoma, and one of their main adversaries is based out of New Orleans. They have fended off many of his henchmen through the years, but never felt fully equipped to challenge him in his own backyard. But when this kickstarter was announced, I told the group about it and everyone agreed it sounded awesome. and then I told them about my grand scheme. I saw Deadlands Noir as the perfect opportunity to finally switch the posse over to SW, and at the same time bring the campaign to the epic conclusion it deserves.

We have been building up to a final confrontation with their enemy in New Orleans and I've promised to follow it up with some questions for each character and a prologue of sorts which will cover certain events that take place in their lives, well if they succeed and live of course. I even hinted that there would be an opportunity to play their descendants (a la Pendragon), if it was applicable. I am also hoping to incorporate some events that happen in the final confrontation into the back story of my DL:N game.

Now that my campaign is down to the final few sessions, and DL:N is almost here, I am getting antsy... December can't get here fast enough!!!

The Companion and everything else will roll out in the weeks to follow, then we'll ship the physical goods around March depending on when they get back from the printer.
