About this project
WHO WE ARE:
The DRIVE-IN Film Festival (www.driveinfilmfestival.com) was started in 2007 with a mission to bring independent films to small towns across America, and support and promote the Drive-In theaters and the iconic experience they can provide to the community. We are a not-for-profit, with a goal to get publicity and audiences for independent films in areas that they might not reach, except on DVD.
WHAT WE'VE DONE:
We had two very successful seasons, screening many glorious independent films at two Drive-In's, the Delsea Drive-In, in NJ, and the Diamond State Drive-In in DE. We were able to get press for the films and the theaters, and brought out large audiences in these in-between towns. The festival creates a small-town carnival atmosphere with games, raffles, prizes, and information about films--making it a true event.
WHAT WE WANT TO DO (WITH YOUR HELP):
So far, we’ve only been able to bring our festival findings to the east coast, and this season we want to spread the help, goodwill, and independent films to drive-in theaters in the midwest, southwest, the west coast, and the northwest.
Your pledge will help us raise the funds to travel to the Capri Drive-in in Coldwater, Michigan. We can't wait to reach out to the midwest, and with your help, we can do just that.
Also, check out our trailer, here on the page...or on our website, www.driveinfilmfestival.com. We have been asked by numerous Drive-ins for a copy of that trailer to screen on the big screens. They feel that the message...that we need to keep the Drive-ins alive, is so important, and could be a great addition to their intermission programming. In order to do that, we have to get the digital copy transferred to 35MM film. You can help us do this!!
