North Pacific String Band came together in late 2010 to play new original music in the string band tradition. Sweet wood tones... a string band's delight!

In the last year and a half we have been playing all over the central coast of California, connecting with tons of awesome people! Having honed a batch of original music for a solid year and a half, we decided it was time to record our debut album. Being a do-it-yourself kind of crew, we started brewing ideas for the independent recording and release of "Steak and Eggs". 

Alex "Cardoons" Bice, bass player for NPSB from Watsonville, CA, found himself at the front door of the Corralitos Grange Hall. He walked around the historic wooden building singing out and listening for the acoustics. "Sweet wood tones", he thought, "that'll do". 

So we decided to rent out the Grange Hall and hole up for three days to record what is now called "Steak and Eggs", inspired by many a steak and eggs breakfast feast held at Rick Algert's infamous West Templeton Ranch. We got our hands on a real nice condenser mic, some other gear, a couple coolers full of food, some Virgen De Guadalupe candles, sleeping bags, and, of course, all of our strings, and went into the Grange Hall with a mission: "Steak and Eggs".

We threw down the money to get the recording done, and now we're sitting on our rough mixes. Our next step is to bring this project to fruition by putting a copy of "Steak and Eggs" in your hands. To do this we must raise funds to master, print, and promote the album$$$$.

We've done the hardest work layin' down the tunes, now we would LOVE to put in the rest of the hard work getting this thing out to you! We're STOKED on this collection of our original songs! NPSB loves what we do, and loves even more getting to share it with you!
We are dedicated 100% to getting this album out by late July 2012. We are going to make that happen, but it would be so very helpful to have your gracious support!
