About this project
Hello! My name is Will Eskridge. I'm a working artist here in Athens, GA and I'm building my Art Studio/Gallery.
I've been making art in some form ever since I was kid. One of my earliest and fondest memories is of me fingerpainting in pre-school. Over the years, I have painted/made art in various non-dedicated spaces. Closets, basements, bedrooms and kitchens. The time has come to build a dedicated studio for which I can work, exhibit and store my art. My goals for this project:
Goal # 1: Finish building my art studio in order to have an appropriate place to work, store and exhibit my art projects.
Goal # 2: Make the space available from time to time as an exhibit space for fellow artists and friends.
Upon completion of the studio, I will have a Grand Opening Reception featuring all the work I created as rewards for your funding. The reception will be a fun filled night with food, drinks and entertainment. The event will be filmed and will be available to view online for backers that cannot attend. All backers are exclusively invited!
The funds are strictly for the materials and labor to finish building the studio. Any extra funding beyond the initial $3500 will be donated to Athens Canine Rescue.
At this time, I have the foundation and flooring system built. The next step in construction is the final step and includes putting up the four walls, doors, windows, roof, paint and trim. It's the biggest step and most expensive. I've made a lot of headway already and I just need this last push to finish it up so I can make art like a madman, shave in my bathroom again and LeeLoo can use her tail as a play toy for the cats instead of a paintbrush!

I was born and raised in Kings Mountain, NC. I attended UNC School of the Arts, School of Visual Arts/Savannah and earned my B.F.A. from San Francisco Art Institute. I now reside in Athens, GA. I make art, music & films. I’m a proponent for canine/feline rescue. I'm restoring a ’53 Buick.
