About this project

My COH eNsemble (Creatures of Habitat Physical Poetry Performance Project) based out of Berkshire County/Pittsfield, MA is going to Philly to be a part of the largest and most artistically liberated + innovative Fringe Festival in the nation to perform our incredibly original and imagination-inducing piece: habitat (de)fragmentation.

we'll get there no matter what, even if we have to thumb it or flap really hard till we float. but if your spirit of adventure finds you wanting to help us represent and arrive well-rested then please...do. we need a little extra more than I have been able to save...to get us there, make sure we sleep and eat, and get us home safely.

travelling= 4 primary performers (that includes me). 1 technician doing sound, projection + lights. 3 additional assistants doing secondary performing parts, photography/archival, props + costume management, and box office running.

total = 8 courageous reps from the berkshires driving, taking trains, buses and bikes in order to make this brave trek to be a part of the larger picture.

when. where. how= september 11th +12th at 4&6 pm at TIME restaurant on sansom st (owned and operated by jason evenchik, pittsfield native, fellow phs '91 grad, and the stepson of the lovely, legendary and long-time supporter of mine: reba evenchik)

remember this work includes the lush and lovely sound and music of lance monotone & frederique trunk. video from the adventurous ben pender-cudlip. costumes crafted by the wildly creative catherine diebold of ruckus muckus originals in collaboration with the craft & design from your very own stefanie creature.

for this one you will earn the reward of "resting well" knowing that because of your generous nature in this life you are earning points towards what could be your next life, where you may be lucky enough to be upgraded to living the life of a starving artist, enjoying all the eager desires of your colorful and tortured spirit, landing at the knees of others and shamelessly begging for their support, attention and admiration, and finally never having to feel more than a few moments of fleeting security, always anxiously floating in the desperate mysteries of the universe....while providing a service to your community with a smile :)

Connected as Stefanie Lynx Weber (758 friends)

I consider myself a dance-maker. Though I suppose that it is really physical poetry. I design metaphors, bump into nuances and make them larger.

I was born and raised on General Electric. It has shaped my metaphors for better or worse. Internal and External. I bring good things to life.

I began to train my muscles and bones in the art of dance technique from the impressionable age of three. I knew I was born for it. My body was clay and my spirit has been true to it's purpose: create this way. Rhythm has been my grounding, and my tap shoes, at times, my drug of choice.

Life is beautiful and life is hard. Art and love make it worth it and keep it expanding.

My first dance-making was done with dolls and objects. I would arrange. Move them, number them. Enter and Exit them. Then I learned to do this with people. And I am still practicing on making it as meaningful as possible.

I have had the absolute joy and privilege to study too many dance techniques with too many amazing people to list here. I regret none of what my body has suffered for doing this. Now, I enjoy the techniques of Gyrotonic, Continuum, Reiki, Sweatlodge and Qigong to reward my body and spirit for all it has and continues to provide for me and many others.

The COH Ensemble (Creatures of Habitat) is a creative passion that lives at the roots of all my making. The opportunity to bond the elements that make us breathe, bleed and birth is an honor. This group helps me to express something I otherwise would frustratingly hold inside: My deep curiosity about and longing for connection to Nature, a force so often taken for granted.

And the ways in which we still ARE Nature.
