About this project
The singing of psalms, hymns & spiritual songs are an important part of how the gathered Church expresses worship to God. There are many hymns that have stood the test of time for even centuries for the theology they teach and the worship they inspire. One of the main reasons these songs are not used as often in modern churches is simply because the music itself is so different that even if a modern worship band plays them, they sound somewhat out of place. These arrangements were born from a desire to incorporate the rich theology and church history of classic hymns into the modern worship context. This record will not only make an excellent addition to your music library, it will also be useful to churches around the world who would like to use these theologically rich songs in their modern or contemporary services.

JR Taylor is an active musician, songwriter, and engineer/producer. He has played guitar with award-winning singer/songwriter Geoff Moore and has written music and recorded with Todd Sucherman & Ricky Phillips of Styx. His song, "Restore Us," co-written with Jerry Wise from their TaylorWise project was featured on Worship Leader magazine's SongDISCovery. He also has engineering credits with such artists as Styx, Allan Holdsworth, and many others. JR led the music & worship ministry at a large church in Austin, TX for six years and continues to serve at various churches both locally and abroad.
