About this project
Nearly a year and a half ago, I set out on a mission to meet, profile, and support America's best street vendors. Today, VendrTV has grown dramatically, covering carts from Maine to Miami and everywhere in between. On the road, it quickly became apparent to me that there was a whole heck of a lot more to America than what I could eat off the street. And it's with that desire to discover, document, and explore that part of America's food culture that I hope to launch The Hungry Pedaler.
The Hungry Pedaler is a series of bicycle-powered tours, shot without crew or camper, that explore America's best local, indigenous cuisines. Think of it as "Survivor Man" meets "No Reservations" meets a video blog. Along with my girlfriend, Miko, I'll pedal my way through America - stopping, meeting, and eating at the hidden gems that lend so much character to each locale, while capturing as much content as possible. After the tour, the footage will be edited and broken up into a series of webisodes to be released weekly.
The first season will be set along the coast of Maine, from Eastport to Kittery. We'll be departing August 15th and spend 2 weeks on the tour.
