About this project
My record "The Golden Age & The Silver Girl" was released digitally on Band Camp (tylerlyle.bandcamp.com) in early fall. It was a difficult, and personally meaningful album to write and make. It sold well (was top 5 on Band Camp for a while). It was well reviewed (one of the 10 best albums of 2011 according to NPR's World Cafe and a hand full of other reputable music blogs), and the consensus is that folks want a physical copy of it. I would love to see that happen.
If the project is funded, I will employ my designer friend Brett (http://www.brettandrewmiotti.com/) to help me design a vinyl pressing, and also two disc (CDs) limited edition package of Golden Age, and the three EPs I released before it (Notes From The Parade, Bad Things (& Collard Greens), and Inland Islands). This would include new art, album notes, and probably some ramblings from me.
If you want to see a vinyl of The Golden Age & The Silver Girl + limited edition disc of my music thus far, this serves as a pre-order. If I can get 200 people to toss in $27 in 30 days, a record we will have. If not, a digital copy exists that you can buy for $6.
It's expensive to press vinyl, it's expensive to design and plan and put together, but it's something I would be proud of, and it's something I would be proud to share with you.

Georgia musician living in Los Angeles. I'm the son of a songwriter (and mobile home salesman) and grew up in small town Georgia. Swore I'd never be a musician. I graduated from college with a degree in Philosophy and moved to Paris. When I wound up back in Atlanta, I recorded an album that was (unbeknownst to me), my decision to be a starving artist. I've worked with Dixie Chicks and 70's songwriter icons. I've played in church rec buildings and billionaires vineyards. I think the interesting stuff has just started. I don't think you're supposed to write your own bio, but it felt weird writing in third person and, well, anyway, I'm just some dude. Thanks.
