Women are a new concept in the Military and although they are ready to fight for their country, is the military ready to accept them?
According to the latest Pentagon survey, one-third of women in the military are sexually harassed.
Since the beginning of the war in Iraq sexual assaults in the military jumped nearly 40% by 2005 and another 24% on top of that in 2006.
In 2010, nearly 2700 sexual assaults were reported by people in the military. But the looming question remains, how many were not reported? Since most sexual assaults are NOT reported how many women in our military are being sexually traumatized and more importantly, why is the military not doing more to protect them?
According to the Pentagon’s own recent surveys only about 1% of Military Sexual Trauma perpetrators will ever pay for their assault!
We want America to stand up and defend our mothers, wives and sisters and demand that steps be taken now to protect those women who choose to defend our great country. They are not Guinea pigs while a system entrenched in tradition catches up. They are human beings, they are women and they are American women!
This is not an anti-military, anti-American documentary. The majority of our male fighting force are brave, deserving heroes. This is a call to action that if we are to allow our women to fight in combat that the enemy not be closer than they think. That the military is not immune to crimes against humanity, especially our own ladies in uniform. And that the "good ol' boy system" is no excuse!
The filmmakers of the award winning 2009 documentary “Who Will Stand” will take a serious look at the pride and pain that America’s female fighting force encounters when they choose to charge front and center in America's most dangerous occupation. We will ride on the success of this multi-award winning film and use all our contacts to see that this film is seen by all.
Every penny of the money collected will go to the production and publicity of this film and we guarantee that this film will be finished and distributed even if the producers have to hock everything they have.
We love our women in uniform and we will see that they are protected from enemies foreign and domestic.
