I just received my book and it's unsigned as well... Which kind of sucks. One of the reasons I pledged $250 was to get a signed book (living in Australia, it's not like I'll get much of a chance otherwise). Feeling a little bit disappointed.

I'm sure we're all happy to hear that you're leaving brightly... but as to what time of day you're doing the dirty deed? That's of less interest to me somehow. I mean, don't get me wrong - whatever method you use to get the creative juices flowing is great, but keep the juices away from me. You left a stain last time that just isn't washing out.

Have you considered asking some Australian companies? Canadian and Australian companies have worked on quite a few animation projects together. Plus, animation work is getting scarce here, I should know, I'm a starving animator myself. :P

109 comments before I saw this update and, frankly, I'm not going to take the time to check what everyone else has said. The one thing I do want to add though, are there any grants available for locally sourced animation? I've heard that grants from the German government are how Uwe Boll still has a career directing.

I appreciate your preferences, but being an resident Indian "backer", I am wondering if you would have preferred if I had not contributed. I am not advocating shipping the work to India, mind you. After all this project was about empowering artists to make their own choices, and so I completely respect your opinion/beliefs.

I just wanted to make everyone aware of the fact that this is a "global" effort in supporting the LICD team, and for everyone to be sensitive to that fact before commenting on the same.

Greg Bulmash on July 6, 2011

Keeping it in North America also has the benefits of the project team being available when you're awake, and not only speaking English, but understanding English as you speak it (i.e. not being confused by slang or idioms). Plus, goddamnit, it keeps the money in the "local" economy. That said, I've had some great experiences outsourcing illustrations (not animation, but related) to South America. There seems to be a great community of artists in Argentina especially and I've had some very good luck with them.

@John G - Someday, I want to be cool enough that when an actor of Russel Crowe's grade is involved in a Robin Hood movie, he says "I got someone" when it comes to casting the most iconic musician of all Western history. (Was so awesome to get to see him in that role).

If I placed a value on the amount of laughs and chuckles I got from reading LICD over the last few years then I probably owe you more than just the 100$ I gave. Sadly, I am a college student like many of your readers it seems and don't have much in the ways of expenses. I just felt the need to be a small part of this. I truly believe Rayne and the gang will make finer viewing material than 90% of the stuff on tv nowadays. Good luck with the project!

I was out of the Canada for the last weeks or so and missed the beginning of this. Been following this series forever and really hope to see it on TV someday. Hell I hope I could work for LICD since 1- I'm a graphic designer and could help to promote the series and 2- It seem I got the voice to do voice over. Anyway, I backed up the series, cant' wait for it and I'm now officially the 1000th backers ! Good job everyone !

Least I Could Do

An unapologetic politically incorrect and sometimes raunchy look at the sex filled lives of five 20-something friends as they tackle work, relationships and each other, all from the viewpoint of a sex obsessed narcissist..

Synopsis:
Living a life free of morality and conscience is a reality for Rayne Summers, the 28 year old at the heart of the Least I Could Universe. Rayne’s chief goal in life is the pursuit of happiness. While this might seem a noble purpose, it should be noted that as far as Rayne is concerned, his own happiness, often at the expense of others, comes first.

Living with Rayne is his lifelong and closest friend John Gold. Always the voice of reason, but seldom listened to; John is constantly attempting to save Rayne from himself. Best friends Mick, Issa and Noel round out the group, but don’t nearly complete the cast. The world of LICD is populated by a wide and diverse ensemble of characters with new faces being introduced often.

Mixing reality with a healthy dose of fantasy, Rayne often uses his vivid imagination to achieve whatever he chooses, whether that be a woman’s affections, the embarrassment of a friend or just to have a good time.
