BACKERS,

We hope that you are well and eager to see more developments on the production of TARTARUS. We have some news to share with you, along with a video or two!

First things first,

Title change. Recently, we have had some notable recognition for the project. We have brought on some new crew who will not only help improve the world, but market it also. Through this, and collaborative agreement, the title of the film has now been changed to "RUST".

The reason for the change, was because the old name (TARTARUS), for lack of a better description, was too nebulous. We thought that the new title was simple, widely understood, and does not only define the film, but every aspect within it. 

Second,

We have now found a composer for the film. The talented, Poland-based, Patryk Arkanow. 

He is very excited to be a part of the project, as we are also. Below, you will find a video of a sample track for the film. We urge you to share your opinions and better our fan-geared production.

Third,

The Rust team has been working incredibly hard, and are constantly driven to better the project. We want nothing more than to make the world of Rust seem as real to you as it is to us. The amount of countless hours spent developing this project has lead to a cataclysm of sleepless nights, but out of it, a world so real and rusted that defines primeval desire and the turmoil of a prospective future.

We know...

It has been a long time coming. But please know this, our lives are nothing but this film. Our days are rust, our dreams are rust. Our world, and everyone around us, is coated in rust. Trust us. We want to see this film just as much as you do.

Dear gracious backers,

We apologize that it has been so long since our last update. We wanted to make sure that we had enough material to deliver to you in order to satisfy your curiosity and science fiction hunger.

It has been a long time coming, over two years in the making and slowly, but surely, we are seeing Tartarus become a reality - and we have you to thank.

For recent news, most will be pleased to know that the "Desert Hood" gas mask has won the poll for the graphic novel.

To be honest, this was our choice from the get-go, so we are thrilled that most of you had thought the same.

We promise that another update will be coming soon. The graphic novel is also scheduled to be finished and available for download by March 1st.

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since our last comprehensive update but rest assured, we are tirelessly working day and night to bring you an amazing film. 'Tartarus' has been more than 2 years in development  (the phase when the team raises money for the project and plans its execution). Creating something of this magnitude is unprecedented within the spectrum of short-filmmaking, and we want to ensure that everything that is being done is done in a way that serves the unique nature of the film. 

At this stage in pre-production (the time from when a film project receives its money to when it begins shooting) we have identified all the filming locations that will be utilized during the production period (filming). Needless to say, we're quite excited to begin. 

Below are several images from our tech-scouts (when the production crew visits the locations/sets to determine how best to technically achieve what the desired look). 

Myself, James, and the rest of the Tartarus team would like to thank each and every one of our backers. Truly, we were blown away by the amount of support. We were all on the edge of our seats as the campaign neared its final seconds. An experience we will never forget. 

As a final thank you, we're going to bend the rules slightly. Although we did not hit the next stretch goal, we have decided to unlock it anyway. All backers $15 and above will receive the graphic novel once the rewards begin to ship!

We will be posting regular updates as to the progress of the project on our the Kickstarter page in addition to the film's official web site: www.tartarus-film.com. We will also be linking to these updates via Twitter and the Facebook Fan page.
