Due to overwhelming demand for Theatre/rehearsal space, the ARMORED CAR THEATRE at Vault1031 -  is reaching out to the community to help us open our rehearsal hall, with studio and dance areas, while the rest of our theatre renovation is ongoing.  

Construction of the Armored Car Theatre at VAULT1031 is a 3 stage process.

Stage 1 - Purchase of property and Architectural design of the Theatre, Rehearsal space and Art and Music Gallery --- ACHIEVED

Stage 2 - Renovation of Rehearsal space and Dance studio, facade improvements and repairs - NEEDED NOW.... a DANCE FLOOR (strand bamboo sustainable and green) over our existing carpeted concrete floor for our 1,100 sq. ft. rehearsal hall, mirrors for our classes, better lighting fixtures, piano tuning and 75 comfortable folding chairs. Our facade also needs more lighting for evening classes and rehearsals, glass block repair, paint and a powerwash! - Needed Now!

This Kickstarter project will enable us to complete STAGE 2 with your help so we can quickly have the Rehearsal and Dance Studio space usable within the next 2 months. Louisville, Kentucky has dozens of viable, working theatre companies clamoring for more rehearsal/performance space. With your help we can provide this space which is desperately needed at a price these theatre companies can afford!  NEEDED NOW.

STAGE 3 will be completion of The Armored Car Theatre, within Vault1031--a 130-seat, state-of-the-art performance venue designed by Michael Hottois.  The Armored Car Theatre will be the greenest, most eco-friendly theatre in the region.  

We are located in an old Armored Car Company complex. All partners participating in this endeavor are neighbors, led by well known theatre professionals, Barbara Cullen and Jon Huffman, Co-Artistic Directors.  All participants live in the Limerick block of Old Louisville surrounding the warehouse. Until construction of the Armored Car Theatre is completed, many of the Cabarets, Master Classes, Visiting Concerts  and meetings can be held in our rehearsal hall.  Also, Dessert Theatre, scheduled to be at the Armored Car Theatre, which will serve local seniors with entertainment by up-and-coming young students from the neighborhood, can now begin rehearsing and performing in this newly renovated rehearsal space .....WITH YOUR HELP!

The entire Vault1031/Armored Car Theatre project has been priced out at $450,000. This KICKSTARTER campaign to fulfill PHASE 2 will help us to begin serving the Theatre community and our neighborhood by providing a professional rehearsal, classroom, and event space while we move on to fulfilling PHASE 3.
