Kickstarter

I've found freedom and joy in Jesus Christ, and I know it's not just for me, but for every heart, and every generation!  My life has been captured by God and it is the love of Christ that compels me to hold out the message of reconciliation to as many as are within my reach.  It is my heart's desire to see the Holy Spirit move in freedom and power, to see Jesus adored and lifted high, and to see the Father's love and presence heal and transform lives.  Through the gifts and life that he has given me, I've worked toward creating a project that could serve as an invitation into a deeper knowledge and relationship with the Father.

The project I am working on is called Generations: Philippians For Families.  The best way I can think to describe it is: "A series within a series...for families within the Family." 

The vision behind the project is that one generation would know and love the Father's Word and would feel confident and equipped to hand it down to the next generation, and that the younger generation would come to know and enjoy Father's Word at an early age.  As we grow in our knowledge and relationship with Him we will gain a confidence to take the message to others and expand the Family of God.

Generations, then, will be a compilation of original art, music, and writings inspired by individual books of the bible.  The first series within the series is called Philippians For Families. It will consist of 3 parts: A full color children's devotional, an adult study guide, and a CD with 8 original songs, all based on the book of Philippians.

Let's talk about each of these parts:

1. Philippians for Families (The children's devotional): In reading through this book, you and your young one will journey together through the entire book of Philippians in a fun and engaging way while discovering God's truths. Each lesson will cover a portion of scripture, give a short devotional, feature creative ways to highlight the theme within the passage, and offer a craft or task to complete.

This devotional is written with the hope of interrupting the cultural tendency to "just get through the lesson," and to encourage conversation instead. It aims to create a foundation for you and your child to talk together regularly about how you feel, what you think, and what God's Word says. 

2. A Closer Look (The adult study guide): This study guide offers several practical tools to aid in observing a passage, interpreting text, and applying the message.  It is for anyone who desires to learn how to study, and how to grow in hearing God's voice through His Word. A Closer Look aims to help equip you to personally know His Truth and build confidence in handing down the message to the next generation.  

No matter who you are, or what your background is, the ability to study, learn, and encounter God personally through His Word is available to all of us.

3. Found in You: (The CD) Everything's better with music!  It is able to create an atmosphere of worship and response to God's Word, as well as an atmosphere of ministry from God's Word. Practically speaking, it aids in memorization, and has the ability to reinforce a message.  This album contains 8 original fully arranged and produced songs featuring lyrics and themes drawn directly from the book of Philippians. I hope that it might be a source of joy and strength for you.

The Process: I have an amazing group of friends who also happen to be producers, videographers, editors, graphic designers, photographers, and studio musicians. The music is all written and we're working hard and having fun in the recording studio now. I'm loving the creativity that has come out in the collaborative process.  It is so rich.  The devotional and study guide have been written and are being edited, and fine tuned. The art, graphic design, and content is being laid out.  It's going to look great!

Because of the generosity of my friends I am able to produce all of this for a very small fraction of what it would typically cost to produce even one portion of the series.

Funding: First, a percentage will go to Kickstarter and Amazon for their services.  Major costs include shipping, the printing of both books, and producing the CD. Funding will also cover the cost of producing and shipping your Kickstarter rewards.  If we double the stated goal, it will cover the cost of the first 300 prints of Philippians For Families  If we exceed that goal, all extra funding will go towards marketing, promoting, and hopefully another printing run. Extra funds as well as proceeds from the book will go towards 2 Timothy for Families, the next series for Generations.  In other words, the goal is to exceed the goal!
