A Final Push for Additional Features!
We have less than two days left in our KickStarter! While our app goal has been met, we would love to raise more funds to support additional app features. If we are able to raise $3,200, we are confident we'll be able to add the following:
- A Google Location Map
- The Ability to Filter Events by Distance, Time, Categories and Location
- A Share with Friends Capability
- An Android Platform

About the Vegan Events App
Want
to know about vegan events happening in your area? What if all of your
city’s vegan festivals, food tours, Meetup outings, vegan potlucks
and more were listed in one convenient place? WORLDWIDE!!!
We believe that having a centralized list of vegan events available as a mobile app AND a website directory, will help people become and stay vegan.
The
mobile app will be FREE and allow the user to search events by city
and/or event date. Event details as well as optional comments and
rankings will be available. Events can easily be submitted to the
directory from the mobile app.
The
website will also serve as a resource for in-depth event information.
Both the app and the website will allow users to share the event on
social media sites.
The App’s Impact
Our
Vegan App is intended to help veganism become mainstream.
We find that many vegans and vegetarians lack the social support and
information needed to truly thrive on the lifestyle and advocate it to
others. Did you feel alone when you first became vegan? Vegan
events—potlucks, VegFests, Meetups etc.—help significantly to create a
supportive vegan community. We hope that no vegan ever has to feel like
they are "the only vegan they know."
We need to do everything we can to promote these events and grow the vegan community.
Our Vegan App will serve as a tool where vegans can connect with other vegans through these events.
We are so excited to create this app and see how it impacts people’s lives.
What We Need
We
need at least $2,000 to get this project off the ground. Anything we raise over $2,000 will help us include additional features. Please give what you can.

Based on the success of the initial application launch and funds raised, we will consider other platforms.

Users will be required to login via Facebook Connect/ Twitter Oath/ Google ID to add events. All events will be moderated to ensure integrity of the database.

This is our current wish list, however the final list of features will be based on the total funds raised:
- GPS/ Zip Code Finder; Photo Tagging, Add An Event Page, Facebook Connect/ Twitter Oath/ Google ID Login, Review An Event, Update Event Details, Est # Of Event Attendees, Share Event (on Facebook and Twitter)

Our initial scope will be Vegan events. We are looking into added a "Vegan Friendly" indicator for events that offer Vegan and Vegetarian options. We have no plans at this point to feature events that offer non-vegan food or non-vegan products.
