agree with the above cmments, I love my JotPro and wonder where JotStudio is...
Creator Benjamin Pellacani on November 9, 2011
That's true where's the app'?
Creator Brenton Schlender on November 8, 2011
Where the heck is this app? It was promised four months ago.
Creator Vincent Roine on August 25, 2011
Just got my Jot. Love it. Now if only it had a laser pointer or a regular pen on the other side! Lightsaber would be out of the question?
<-- beggar and a chooser.
Creator cagdas on August 17, 2011
I might be a bit late to post this but I am +1 for Android App. Also let me note that (I believe unlike IOS) Android currently lacks (in my opinion) a good note-taking app and I know many people who are searching for it. So with a good app, you might find more users to adopt it than you expect.
I hope you find the resources to make an Android app.
Creator Jesse Diaz on August 15, 2011
I would say that you should look at Noterize......the only thing I didnt like about this app was that you could not make folders and you could only use one dropbox account......also the writing needed some work but overall it was the best writting app in the market
Creator Sheldon Borges on August 13, 2011
App looks interesting. Hopefully you keep in mind people who would use it in business meetings etc. NoteTaker HD is an excellent app, take the positives from there and improve on or include in your app.
Creator Eric Yew on August 11, 2011
Can we have this working for Android Honeycomb tablets as well! I seriously will never buy an iPad and would love to be using this on an Android Tablet. Thanks.
Creator pcj - SpaceVenture Intern on August 10, 2011
An Android app would be amazing.
Creator Ben Johnson on August 9, 2011
This looks like an excellent idea - I'm glad to be backing such cool stuff. A couple of thoughts from someone who's tried a lot of the note-taking applications out there:
1) NoteTaker HD's input method (magnified panel with an auto-advance zone) is far and away the best I've used.
2) The more ways to export out of this app, the better
3) +1 on importing PDFs. This is one of the features I love about NoteTaker - I can import a PDF form at work, and annotate it and send it back in, all from my iPad.
Creator Adonit on August 6, 2011
@Jesse: Thanks for your insight. PDF's are definitely on our list of great features to have for JotStudio. I don't think it will make it into the 1st build, but we will get it in there as quickly as we can. It seems this is one of everyones must have features :)
Creator Kamala Shanti on August 6, 2011
I just can't wait for the new app! I was going to use my Jot Pro(got one for a friend, too!) with the Bamboo Paper app. I even paid for the optional 20 notebooks. Now you do this to poor Wacom! I can't even find one of their styli available anywhere right now, but when the Jot comes on the market, with lower-priced options and color choices, they're DOOMED!!!
Sad.
Creator Jesse Diaz on August 6, 2011
I can't wait till this app is out. I've paid for so many apps to be able to take notes, etc. My favorite was noterize but they sold to nuance and their hasn't been an update in awhile. I know you guys took the survey already but I would hope you guys would have an import option for PDFs and be able to write, paste pics, etc on them. I saw taking classroom notes #1 on the survey but don't forget that books, handout, etc are usually in PDF so we would want to be able to make notes and highlight on these pdfs
Creator Carlos Robles on August 4, 2011
I have an iPad 2, but im looking to sell it when a better android tablet it out. For this reason, I would also like an android version as well, if possible--UPAD just does not cut it.
Some advice, if you could add the feature of being able to annotate pdfs (similarly to UPAD) then this product will be amazing! I am a masters student conducting research for my thesis, and this would make reading journal articles a lot more engaging.
Creator Sumitra on August 1, 2011
I love you guys. I tried (and paid for) about a million note apps and never found anything that felt natural, this looks like it has the potential to be everything I have searched for ..well once I have my Jot anyway! Just proves once again that you have superb, useable and sleek ideas, awesome!
Creator Steve Klasing on July 28, 2011
Will the new software have capability to import/export documents (similar to note shelf or noterize)? If so, it would be good to have it simplified with as few steps as possible. Also good if a number of import possibilities were offered-- i.e. Emails, documents of various types, etc. Also import should include multiple paged files rather than only individual pages. Cut and paste in and out of program would be useful.
Export should be allowed as much as possible on an a la carte basis to a variety of programs.
Think that I agree about pricing-- could be higher.
Would software work on iPhone or Touch? How about with a Wacom device on mac?
Will you be able to adjust color allow annotation work? Highlighting
Creator Patrick Arlt on July 28, 2011
This is awesome. I've been searching for a great sketching app and a few have come close (UI Sketcher and Penultimate) and both annoy me for some reason. But they both outstanding features.
Your app looks awesome, nice and simple with some interesting features, bringing in photos and images from websites is fantastic. (Can we bring them in from dropbox to?)
From exerpience there a few features that would be awesome.
• Brush Presets: (Checkout UI Sketcher) Stop making me fiddle with brush settings all the time. If i can quickly switch between a few brush styles I get that would be great.
• Custom "Paper": Check out Penultimates custom papers. It would be awesome to make our own grids.
• Sync: Dropbox is a must. Evernote and Email would be nice to.
If your app had these 3 things that would make it one of the best sketching apps in my opinion.
I think 2.99 is a little low for how good this looks and how much it does. you could probably get away with charging 5.99
Creator Kyle Smith on July 28, 2011
As long as it syncs with something like Evernote, Dropbox, etc. it could be useful.

I would love to see an android app as well. Everyone I know as well that has a tablet has an android!
Creator Kippy on July 28, 2011
I am in for an Android app as well. I'll pledge more for an android app. Almost everyone I know that has a tablet, has an Android tablet.
@Tod, please don't include me in your description of "we investors". I pledged for a product that will work well on a capacitative screen; I didn't pledge money base on an iOS product. I plan to use the Jot with my Android tablet and my iPhone 4.
Creator Stephen Cordova on July 28, 2011
Awesome! I actually had this same idea about a year ago. I'm happy something like this is actually coming about.
As much as I would like to bash Tod Wicks Android comment, I'm not going too. The main reason I donated was because you told me it worked on the Android OS. Although, Tod is right about focus, you spread yourself to thin and even the smallest problem will run right though you.
Overall great product and now it's going to come with a fantastic app.
Creator Tod Wicks on July 27, 2011
Actually I'm really surprised by the number of requests for an Android version. Adonit: Please please keep that project on the furthest back burner you have. Keep your goal for the iPad Jot and the app in mind and don't be distracted. We investors didn't pledge money based on an Android product And don't think about doing a survey; that will simply result in skewed self-served results from the Android community, and you don't need adding more headaches to those you already have.
Creator Linda Darnall on July 27, 2011
Thanks for the heads up...just posted JotStudio on my wall!
Creator Terri Jones on July 27, 2011
Looking forward to the iPad app. Have tested the other tablets, still prefer my iPad. Thanks for the exciting idea!
Creator Daniel Fajardo on July 27, 2011
It would be awesome if you could have an in app PDF and even an iBook browser since I use iPad to take notes in class and have most of my textbooks in PDF and iBook format
Creator Patrick Martin on July 27, 2011
Hey, Matthew, don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone, and will be getting the iPad 3 when it comes out. But Android is now a very competitive product, and is growing in volume. One projection has Android-based tablets making up 39% of tablet sales by 2015 (http://thenextweb.com/mobile/2011/04/11/gartner-android-tablets-to-hold-39-market-share-by-2015/). My bet is that Android will take off even faster. Apple's main advantage at this point is its stranglehold over production lines. That will shift in time.
Also, Android has a larger market share of smart phones than Apple does, and the Jot will certainly work great on that existing large installed base.
Creator Matthew W. on July 27, 2011
I am surprised by the number of comments geared toward Android; I petition as well. I really like my Android Honeycomb tablet and I don't want to switch to Apple either.
Creator Mark L Evans on July 27, 2011
I to have to put in for an Android port, I nor any of my friends drink that apple flavored kool aide.
I will up my pledge as well as find some more supporters for you if you will promise an Android port.
Creator Matthew on July 27, 2011
Sorry Patrick and Nick. Android just does not have the number of units at this point to make app studios enough money. The big companies can do it but small studios have to have shear volume which Apple has in order to make a living. Android may be a good tablet OS but it just does not have the number of units in consumers hands to be violable yet. Just my two cents.
Creator Patrick Martin on July 27, 2011
Fantastic idea. Would also like to see you work with other app makers to expand the capabilities of their apps with the precision drawing available with the Jot! No need for you to entirely reinvent the wheel of drawing apps, and there are a lot of speciality photo and drawing apps which would benefit from this.
If you will make the app available on Android, I can increase my pledge. My artist girlfriend uses an Android tablet, and would love something like this!
Creator Nick Hahn on July 27, 2011
Agreed with Iris, I would love to see an android tablet version too. I know you've got a lot of work a head of you just to get the iOS version done...just wondering if Android is in the pipeline?
I'm quite excited for the Jot and now even more so for the App. Plus the "Paper had a good run" tagline is absolutely fantastic! Totally spot on.
I'll be sending this kickstarter out to everyone I know to get more money coming your way.
Thanks for the thoughtful innovations. Keep it up!
Creator Adonit on July 27, 2011
@Steve - We are building JotStudio as we speak. We want to give it to everyone who backed us on kickstarter for free. The catch is helping us reach the $80,000 mark so we can use the profit from the pledges for Jot to help pay for the app. You can email me at kris@adonit.net with any questions, investments or other wise. Thanks for the support!
Creator Steve Klasing on July 27, 2011
Does this program already exist? You mention a backer's pledge as well as a price. Can it be purchased? Is there a means set up to take pledges for this purpose now?
You seem to have a lot of what I consider to be good ideas. Any room for investment within your company? I think that you have access to my email address from log in here. If that is not the case, please tell me and where i can reach your private email. Thanks.
Creator Iris Ailin-Pyzik on July 27, 2011
Android!
Creator Adonit on July 27, 2011
@Tod. Give the video a try again. We just checked it on all our IOS devices and it worked great! Let us know if you have a problem.
@Ryan @Eric - Currently we are building it for the iPad, if there is enough interest for Android we will definitely look into building it for Android. Maybe we will have to do a survey to look into this :)
Creator Kyle Leneweaver on July 27, 2011
I'll put in for an android version as well... any hope?
Creator Ryan Kimber on July 27, 2011
I am also curious if you will be doing an Android version?
Creator Eric Licciardello on July 27, 2011
I'd love some android support as well.
Creator Tod Wicks on July 27, 2011
Pity that the video is in Flash. All us millions of iDevice users are left out of the fun.
So what's the product and where do we see some textual descriptions/still photographs or screen shots?
Creator Michael Moon on July 27, 2011
Wow. The ability to drag-copy from websites and photo albums is THE kick in Kickstarter! You guys are impressive and REALLY ROCK.
Creator project [fermented] on July 27, 2011
How does it work?
Creator Vadim Gordin on July 27, 2011
Looks good. Android support?
