Day 8 Video: Precision Disc Durability
Hey Kickstarters
We've heard some questions about the durability of Jot's Precision Disk. We are here to say, this disc is no push over. Check out the new video!
If you guys have other stuff you want to see don't hesitate to ask. These are actually a lot of fun to make ;)

I want to see my own hand with a Jot in it. There's a request.

Hey guys - just a quick two-liner to say that you're doing a tremendous job in project and production management (AND you're creative too, which is the best part). Your communication channel is clear and unambiguous, and you deliver what you promise.
There is a million tier-1 university MBAs out there who will never come close.... ;-)
Way to go!

Thanks Alisa! Will there be a clip or something for the Jot so it's not just loose? If so, will that be an option for a Jot Pro? We pledged for 2 Jot Pro's so we've got the magnets, but since my husband has an iPad 1, that doesn't help him much!
Creator Adonit on July 23, 2011
@Kaye, Thanks! We know you will love it
@Mark, we currently don't have it in the plans to include a spare disk with the Jot, we cannot emphasize enough how difficult it is to snap of, but in the event that it does happen and it gets lost, we will offer replacement disks for a minimal fee
@Lissa, there are no magnets on iPad 1, so Jot Pro will not attach to it, and remember that regular Jot doesn't magnetically attach to anything, it is only a feature of Jot Pro! We are working on some ideas regarding alternative ways of attaching Jots to touch screen devices
@Chris, yea we are going to have replacement disks available for purchase for a minimal fee. Yes, Jot and Jot Pro will work the same on any capacitive touch screen devices, but only Jot Pro attaches magnetically

I love the fact that you showed how the jot is being tested for endurance (it brings Ikea chairs to mind).
It might make sense, however, to have discs available for purchase in case one would get lost (perhaps taken off by a toddler in the house).
And although the iPad 1 doesn't have magnets to hold the Jot, the Jot itself will work the same on the iPad 1 and 2 when it comes to writing.
Creator Lissa McGrath on July 22, 2011
I understand that the Jot attaches to my iPad 2 with the magnet, but what about my husband's iPad 1? We pledged so we could get 2 but I'm curious how it fits with my husband's iPad.
Creator Mark L Evans on July 22, 2011
Sure the disk is tough and hard to accidentally remove, but wouldn't it make sense to include a spare disk?
Creator Kaye Baucom on July 22, 2011
The Jot is a very impressive concept and design. I can't wait to try it out on my iPad painting and sketching apps.
Creator Adonit on July 22, 2011
Thanks everyone for your comments, we love making these videos for you, so keep asking questions!!
@Matt, unless there is sand or any other kind of hard dust that is trapped between Jot and your Ipad, it wont get scratched. The kind of glass Apple uses for its products is very hard and quite difficult to scratch
@Mary- we just love your support ;)

I love the videos and can't wait for my Jot.
Creator Matt Bezzo on July 22, 2011
Looks cool! Only thing I'm worried about at this point would be scratching the iPad's glass? The softer "nubs" on other styli seem to address that, but with precision disk, I'm a little worried as it seems to be a hard plastic. Any thoughts? Seems like it'll be important to keep the screen very clean when using the Jot.
