Background
I want to record my first full-length album. I started writing songs when I was 15, and I had a vision of sharing my music with thousands of people in concert venues across the U.S. 15 years later, with a Masters degree in Music Performance from USC, and three EP/demo albums under my belt...now's the time to take the next big step towards my vision: A FULL-LENGTH ALBUM!

The Recording Studio
I started researching recording studios, and got to visit Coupe Studios in Boulder, Colorado. I met with producer John McVey at Coupe, and we had a great conversation about how to bring this album to life.
John McVey
The vibe at Coupe Studios felt great. I felt comfortable with the environment and with John, and I felt strongly that it's a place that will bring out and reflect my best musicianship.
The Budget
I set $8,000 as my goal which will allow me to record 6-7 songs. However, my ideal would be to record 12-14 songs, around $16,000, but that depends on YOU:) If the project doesn't reach the goal, I don't get any money. If the project reaches the goal, I can do 6-7 songs. If the project EXCEEDS the goal, it means I get to put more tracks on the album! And if we go over $16,000, the extra money will go towards marketing and promoting the album, and touring! Funds up to $16,000 will go towards:
- Pre-production - going over the songs with John McVey, editing, and selecting the best songs for the album
- Studio time - recording the tracks!
- Producer (John McVey) - getting feedback from John throughout the recording process
- Musicians - the band (drums, bass, piano, electric guitar, background vocals)
- Mixing - setting all the volume levels of each track so it sounds just right
- Mastering - giving the tracks final touches so they "pop"
- Duplication - pressing the CD so I have copies for you!
