A new update schedule
So here's what's happened: I didn't want to spam people, and I know it's hard to opt out of updates on kickstarter. Making a couple new critters a week for a full year would mean sending out so many updates as to likely annoy folks. But I went WAY too far in that direction, and I apologize. I'm almost half way through the project. You can choose your rewards at any time from the masks already completed. I'm keeping that list up to date on my blog, at this link http://thebookofimaginarybeings.blogspot.com/2011/08/donate-button-added.html
I edit that entry as each mask is completed, so the address won't change.
In addition, I'll be sending out updates from here once every week or two, with a couple photos pf some of my favorite masks created in the interim, just to let you all know that your money is, in fact, being used- for more and more wondrous creatures. If you'd like more frequent updates when critters are being made, and/or would like some insight into the process, subscribe to the blog, here: http://thebookofimaginarybeings.blogspot.com/
Once again, I would like to apologize- I am a better metalsmith than businesswoman, and my lack of updates was, clearly, a mistake.

First mask rewards are going out!
Thanks again! I love you guys.
The first masks are getting sent out! These are for the 75 dollar pledge level, but there are masks at all levels available, now, if you want yours in time for halloween. If you've pledged for a different mask level, and want one of the Wufniks, as well, you can add one on to your pledge. To take a look at these, go here: http://thebookofimaginarybeings.blogspot.com/2011/09/lamed-wufniks.html
or read this:
Here's the deal- you tell me which one of the 36 you like, and I
will pick him up, put a ribbon in him, whisper in his ear what he is,
send him off to you, and make a new Wufnik. If you can find it in your
heart to take a photo of your new friend, worn by either yourself or
someone else, in a crowd, wherever you live, I would like to include
that photo in whatever the final version of this piece ends up being
(only with your permission, of course). If you pledged in the original
kickstarter at some level other than 75, but really want in on the
Wufniks, an additional pledge of 50dollars will get you your original
pledge reward PLUS a Wufnik. Because I didn't explain the Wufniks in the
kickstarter, and I think they're pretty awesome, and i wouldn't want
you to miss out. Plus, the more Wufniks there are, the better the world
will be. There are photos of all the individual Wufniks on my Flicker,
because this blog just isn't intended to support that number of photos
for browsing.
For those who pledged at higher levels, I've made a list of which critters currently in existence go with which tier. This isn't to say you have to pick right now! There will be lots more options by the end, and I'll be adding at least four new creatures by Sunday. However, if you want a mask by Halloween, please let me know within about two weeks.
Continueing and rewards on their way

This paragraph is for those who pledged during kickstarter:
The blog continues to update as each imaginary creature makes it's debut into daylight. I've gotten a good start on sending out rewards- most of the one's that can be filled, have been (that is to say, thank you notes). Pattern rewards will be going out next week. Almost everyone who pledged for a mask reward opted to wait and see some more before choosing, thus, those haven't gone out; those folks can be expecting their thank you notes shortly, regardless.
This next paragraph is for those who didn't pledge during kickstarter, but meant to:
The blog now has a donate button, and right above it is a link to the rewards. They're not exactly the same as the kickstarter rewards, but they're still fantastic. Check it out! tell your friends, both real and imagined. I continue to add things to masks as I go, and continuing support makes spontaneity possible. I'll appreciate your contribution at any point in the project.
This paragraph is for everyone:
I love you all! Thank you for your support, both emotionally and financially. I couldn't do it without you (I'd be an imaginary artist, with an imaginary audience- nearly as tragic as the Squonk)

WHEEE!
Well, we did it! We beat my initial goal by enough that pretty much all the masks will look the best they could possibly look. Thank you all so very much! I finished sending out surveys today. I'll start sending thank you notes and patterns more or less as soon as I receive your response. For masks I will have to wait till the copper order placed with kickstarter funds comes in (how exciting is that?) so don't expect anything for about a month or a month and a half, even if you chose to receive your mask very very soon. I am under the impression that you can not unsubscribe from some kickstarter updates without unsubscribing from all kickstarter updates, so to avoid spamming you or sending you more info than you want; The Imaginary Beings will be put up on my blog as soon as their portraits are taken. http://thebookofimaginarybeings.blogspot.com/ . I will still send some updates through here, but will avoid overdoing it.
