Hello! Thanks for visiting my Kickstarter page!
My goal is to raise 30,000 so I can take my band and I on tour in 2012.
****NOTE**** I unexpectedly reached my goal in one day!!! With days still left in the campaign, whatever extra I raise will go towards more touring potentially outside of the US, more albums, music videos, merch and getting my music to you!!****
I've been writing music and recording since I was about 14 and through the up's and down's of it all, and being signed twice, I've begun releasing my music independently. The one thing I haven't had the means to make possible yet is touring the songs!! With Kickstarter existing, I feel it's finally in my reach to make an official tour come to fruition. But, I need your help!

If I raise the money, I will start booking venues with my tour manager, kicking off on the East Coast with the plan of moving west...
If I'm lucky enough to surpass my goal of 30,000, extra funds will go towards making my next album, more live shows, music videos and shinier merchandise and packaging! The point is, anything I raise above helps me continue making music and performing.

All packages are delivered upon reaching the goal amount which in this case is March 24th! You can stream the EP live at www.alexzjohnson.com, but for those who want a digital download sooner, it will be available on iTunes & Amazon a few weeks after launch.

I will let everyone know after the campaign is finished. For the US dates, I'm factoring in the analytics of where majority of the pledges are coming from. This information I won't know until the end of the campaign. The same goes for countries outside of the states as they will as well be determined by how much I raise.

Hitting the goal so soon has opened up more opportunities for this tour. I'll have a better idea of where I'll be playing when I see the analytics of where people have been donating from, as I will factor this into the route. A lot of this information I won't know until closer to the end of the campaign!

Sure! One VERY IMPORTANT note regarding that though -- you need to make sure the gift card has at least $1 more on it than the amount of the pledge. Amazon sometimes does a $1 ping authorization that does not clear in time for the transaction not to fail when they go to collect the full amount!

Alexz Johnson is a Canadian singer-songwriter based in Brooklyn, NY. She started vocally training at the age of 8 and song writing at the age of 12. Also a Gemini award winning actress, Alexz is most commonly recognized as musician Jude Harrison from Instant Star and Annie Thelen from So Weird, amongst other films. At 18, she was signed to Capitol Records, at 22 signed with Epic Records, both deals fell through due to internal changes. Alexz has continued to write and record independently for herself and other artists and looks forward to the opportunity to launch her first official US tour with all the music she's accumulated, including her new Skipping Stone EP.
