About this project
With your support, I will turn a finished novel into a printed, illustrated edition. It is possible, I believe, for books to follow in the path forged by independent musicians and artists, producing quality literature through direct support form those who enjoy our work.
A Journey of Dragons is an original science fantasy novel, set in the land of Syraqua, where dragons have settled and humanity is nearly extinct, where dwarves delve into dark secrets of the past. Human civilization has risen and fallen twice before; it now rises again; its survival depends on the willingness of dragons to transcend an ancient hatred.
This 90,000-word novel is completely finished, and available for free download (in PDF, EPub and Text formats) at:

A Journey of Dragons is simply a beginning. The world of Syraqua will be a setting for many more novels, including a sequel (Revelations of Darkened Souls) being written right now. Short stories, artwork, and even music will flesh out the Syraqua universe. The sequels chronicle the rise of human civilization in a world of intelligent reptiles, steampunk dwarves, and, of course, dragons.
This is a family project, combining the artistic talents and writing skills of five people. We have unique gifts for our supporters, including personalized, original artwork for our most generous patrons. Ever wanted to see yourself flying by dragon, or walking the streets of a dwarven city? We can do that for you!

In addition to the $25 rewards, the artists will create a piece of original, customized, signed piece of black & white artwork, with you (or someone you designate) and one or two characters from the books, in a setting of your choice. Pledge $200 or more
This gives you the same set of rewards for the $50 patrons, BUT the drawing will be in FULL COLOR, in the style of our color plates and covers. This will be an entirely unique piece of artwork, all your own, drawn to request (within reason, of course).

Scott is a humanoid, a U.S. Citizen, a husband, and the father of three wonderful daughters. In the realm of computer programming, he's widely-known for writing more than 20 books about software development and evolutionary computing.
In the 21st century, Scott is "repurposing" himself as an author of science fiction and fantasy, creating the universe of Syraqua.
