Kickstarter

We are shipping remaining rewards out over the next couple of weeks. This will include both the Kickstarter and "Chip-in" rewards from 2012.

Painting has been going slowly but we have sets done for the original $500 level backers. These will be going out as we verify shipping information and make sure they are going to the right places. For the most part, the figures are painted the same, but have been done at a very nice gaming level. Here are some more of the finished minis. A couple of people took the "chip-in" option to get all bonus figures painted also. Those are in progress and will ship once they are completed.

So it has been a trying couple of months fighting with resin casting. What we have found out is that the two big commanders are just too difficult and expensive to cast in any large number, so they cannot be chosen rewards. Those getting two commanders will instead be get the Fortune Hunter and Ancients of Atalan figures. The Fortune Hunter commander is resin but we were able to cast the 120 or no needed to fulfill rewards. This took a long time and multiple molds to do, something that has delayed shipping tremendously. We also have enough of the anklebiter barnacles, which almost all backers got as a reward. In hindsight, resin is not a good choice for rewards, especially free rewards. We are commencing shipment of the commanders and ankelbiters and they will be going out of the next couple of weeks.

On the painting side, Almost all of the painted sets are done. A few need washes and touch-ups, but they are really close. Here are some more shots of finished figures.

Also finally done are the Dire Fish-Lizard, Dagathonan Brute and Hag-Ray. A few folks have those as part of their pledges from the "Chip-in" back in October, so they will be shipping soon. The Dark Mariner Commander is finally cast up also - big resin monstrosity. The commanders will ship out as soon as we can cast them. Those at Gamemaster level will be getting all four, so they will be shipping once the Dark Mariner commander is cast. As a plus, the commanders will all come with game cards.

In other news, we have some more painted studio models, including the Silent Soldier.

We're still plugging away on some figures that were for the the initial DeepWars Kickstarter and working on painted minis. We apologize for the delay in these figures. They are taking a long time to sculpt.

Here is the Dark Mariner Commander, Elluvi Darkeye. Almost done. Just a few suckers to finish.

Here is the rough WIP for the Dagathonan Brute. There may be some more edits to the hands and feet and the fin crest length. It is a very large figure that will need to be resin for sure.

The Mini-Kickers for DeepWars went really well considering it was only two weeks. There were some that could not join in though, and so we ran a very short "Chip-in" pledge drive that helped some folks join in. It was right during the holidays though, so everyone was tapped out. We are reinstating the "Chip-in" pre-order pledge manager so that backers can add to their Mini-Kicker pledges or new backers can join in to help unlock some additional miniatures, like the Giant Anglerfish. In other news, we are making cards for all miniatures now, so they are taking a few days longer to get together. This helps us finish the casting of new minis though, so hopefully folks will not mind waiting a bit more.

There are three minis still in production from this Kickstarter. The Dagathonan Brute is coming along well, as is the Dark Mariner Commander. The Dire Fish Lizard is just beginning. We will be sending Anklebiter barnacles as the bonus terrain that everyone got also.
