About this project
You've helped me put on a gallery show, publish a book, now I'm looking to you and the Kickstarter community to help me open up an artist's consignment shop in Milwaukee.
The Waxwing is a storefront opening up in the Village of Shorewood (just north of Milwaukee in Wisconsin). The purpose of The Waxwing is to provide a space for artists to sell & display their work and to provide the community with a place to shop locally and find unique one of a kind products made by artists in their town. This work includes paintings, prints, jewelry, pottery, fashion accessories and much more. Work is sold on consignment & artists set their own prices to insure that they're paid fairly for their work. The Waxwing will also be hosting workshops and all ages figure drawing in an effort to feed more creativity into the community.

Connected as Steph Davies (346 friends)
Born & raised in the eighties in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Used to yell at the wind when it interfered with her coloring in her coloring books (there's video evidence of this that will some day surface on the internet)
Studied illustration & printmaking at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (where somewhere along the way, she became friends with the wind again and started drawing birds)
Met the love of her life in Chicago in a small coffeeshop where they played music on Monday nights.
Now lives & works in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with that love (who plays music for her) and the wind walks her to work every day.
