Mapleton to Sunshine
Hi Everyone!
I'm off to New Orleans today for the annual US Society on Dams conference, but before I head out I wanted to post this latest update. When you read Kevin's Point of View you'll notice a connection between Mapleton Ave. (the street Kevin lives on) and Sunshine. One of the big reasons there's such a strong emotional connection between Mapleton Ave. and the old town of Sunshine is there's a physical connection as well. If you drive west out of Boulder on Mapleton Ave. the street actually turns into Sunshine Canyon Drive as it starts twisting into the mountains. The Sunshine Canyon area (named after the old town of Sunshine) is quite popular for hikers and mountain bikers, some of which you'll see on the nearby video.
The photo below was taken near the top of Sunshine Canyon.

Somehow this turned into the 12 days of Christmas... I think I want to move to Boulder! That picture is breath taking! And now I get why Kevin's dad was riding his bike, he was so close to it. It looks so beautiful there. You definitely need to keep doing these updates, they are so much fun!
