hi there supporters, did you see the article in yesterday's NY TIMES by AO Scott on documentaries?
We were glad for it because it described a kind of storytelling we admire and aspire to for this film. (One of the films he flags that we also highly recommend is The Interrupters from Hoop Dreams director Steve James, don't miss it!) Speaking of storytelling, after 5 months in the edit room, our editor Penelope Falk has cut 60+ scenes (and that's just the ones we really liked.) As of last week, we started our "paper cut" and over the next 8 weeks we will assemble (and re-assemble) everything we've got into a rough cut of the final film. And thanks to you, half of that labor is covered, financially speaking. Now, if we could double our amount... (insert 2 bit emoticon here.)
