About this project
Marrying George Clooney's newest cast member, Colleen Zenk (As the World Turns) shares her true feelings for George Clooney:
Marrying George Clooney: Confessions from a Midlife Crisis is a satirical play by Amy Ferris, Ken Ferris and Krista Lyons, based on the bestselling memoir and blog of the same title. Set in cyberspace, it’s about love, life, moms, dads, siblings, marriage, friendships, Ambien, confessions, googling old boyfriends @ 3 am, fantasies and awakenings. It's about falling in love with yourself, and it's about a realization that women no longer have to punctuate any single part of their lives with a period. This is where we need your help.
There’s a difference between a script and a play. A script is on the page and a play is on the stage. We have an amazing script that needs to come to life on stage. The purpose of this Kickstarter is to reach the goal of producing Marrying George Clooney: Confessions from a Midlife Crisis at CAP21 by raising $12,500 before January 21st. When you give to this Kickstarter project, you will not only receive unique, exclusive rewards, you will play a crucial part in making this new script into a world premiere production.
CAP21 is a critically acclaimed non-profit theatre company with a conservatory in New York City, dedicated to creating new work, developing new talent and building new audiences. CAP21 needs your support to produce this new play. Kickstarter funding will enable us to produce this play at its full potential: creating a theatrical experience about the unique, wild mystique of women as they audaciously reinvent their lives after 50.
Marrying George Clooney: Confessions from a Midlife Crisis opens at The CAP21 Theatre on Wednesday, February 29th and runs until Saturday, March 24th. Performances will be at 7 PM, Wednesday through Saturday. Directed by Frank Ventura. Written by Amy Ferris, Ken Ferris and Krista Lyons. Cast TBA.
