Project #1 

is a devised theater piece currently being created by a group of 7 artists/students at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.  We are working for the student run theater organization on campus, Theatrix.  

The idea behind the piece is to create a world that revolves around the aesthetic qualities of surrealism, futurism, and dadaism.  As students, it is a rare chance for us to play with the ideas of these art movements.  

The script for this piece is currently being written through a series of writing exercises.  

Plot

Humans utilize fear as a tool to help control the lives of others.  Fear is an essential element in everyday life, it is a factor in every decision made.  The group creating this piece of theater is embracing the idea of fear to show how it is used, and how fear can be overcome.

This piece is being created by a generation that is often categorized as lazy and apathetic.  We are anything but that, this piece is empowering our voices.  We have thoughts and voices, and now is the time to use them to create an event on stage.

What we need

Performing a piece of art takes a lot of materials such as wood, costumes, etc.  We need help supplementing the small budget we have.  Due to the content of the piece many of the elements are highly visual.  We are students and therefore have little access to resources needed.  

Anything can help us obtain:
