Connected as Sanford Lewis (1127 friends)
Sanford Lewis, Producer/Director, has danced contact improv for about 20 years, and has been filming it for 11 of those years. He previously produced numerous environmentally oriented documentaries including Contaminated Without Consent, Burning Issues in Medical Waste and Off the Books: Environment and Human Rights. He is also a public interest lawyer who advocates on behalf of environment and human rights.
Hey Sanford, It was so good to hear about this from friends and I am delighted to help. Warmest regards!
Thank you Ian! I'm sure we will be answering that question in a trailer online. Will work on the elevator pitch , one or two minute version... but in a way that ends up with people wanting to watch our whole 100 minute film. ;-)
I am so hoping this film will be the answer I can hand to all my friends who ask me "What is Contact Improvisation?" and are annoyed when I just wave my hands and grunt. Oh please, please, please let it be true! And maybe little business-card-sized CDROMs containing the trailer that I can hand out in elevators, for that "elevator-pitch" moment. Except I usually take the stairs. But I would ride elevators more if I had the CDROMs and didn't have to face that awkward silence after The Question. You know how it is. GO, SANFORD, GO!
Go, Sanford! Go! Woo hoo!
Excited to see this happen. I am working on a dance film myself. I understand the importance of sharing dance in this way with the greater population. Good Luck!!!!!
Good point Delphine. This is what we need right now to get moving. It doesn't reflect our full eventual costs to finish the film, certainly much more in the end. That's why I said it's about building momentum/getting moving.
Hi Sanford,
I am amazed in how much you need to finish the movie! It seams low for a movie???
The presentation of your project in the video is great and i am sure you will have what you need ( wish you more...) to present it at sundance!
Good luck for the last road..Thanks for your beautiful work, thanks for your gift to the dance community. I am glad to support it. Lots of love- Delphine
