About this project
Musician Sara Hickman has been named Official State Musician of Texas 2010 and has decided to use her title to do some good in the world!
Sara has pulled together an incredible list of Texas' finest musicians to play her songs on an album called "Best of Times." She is donating all of the proceeds of the album to Theatre Action Project, an Austin, TX based nonprofit that brings arts programs back into schools.
The album features: Willie Nelson, Shawn Colvin, Rhett Miller, The Flatlanders, Robert Earl Keen, Edie Brickell & the New Bohemians, Abra Moore, David Garza, Jimmy La Fave, Betty Soo, Ruthie Foster, Marcia Ball, Trout Fishing in America, Brave Combo, White Ghost Shivers, Ana Egge, Suzanna Choffel, Matt the Electrician, The Daze, Gretchen Phillips, Andrea Perry, Monte Warden with Colin Boyd, After Math, LZ Love, Patrice Pike, Shelley King, Elizabeth Wills, Joel Guzman, Joe McDermott, Trish Murphy with Charlie Sexton & Skyrocket, Jess Klein, The Djembabes, Ray Von Foster, Christine Albert and Chris Gage.
The album is almost finished! There are just a few songs left to record and now we need your help to pull us through the final stretch!
We need funds to:
Master the album
Finish album packaging
Press a limited number
Market and promote the album
In order to make sure we can sell a ton of albums to support the great cause of arts education, we need to get the word out about it! Please help us!
