A border-defying contemporary dance piece—born from cross-cultural collaboration in Tijuana, by Martita Abril and Matthew Armstrong
Our original choreography, Dis Or Der, has been selected to be presented at a dance festival in New York City. To be able to make this happen we need to raise money to help diffuse costs associated with travel and lodging. My partner, Matthew Armstrong, is a member of the renowned company Lux Boreal from Tijuana, México and he will be coming to NYC to perform this piece. With your help we can make this happen and repeat this cultural exchange that has been presented in México and California and now in the great City of New York.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
If this project is successfully funded the only real potential challenges are staying healthy and free of injury to be able to perform and share our art. Finalizing studio rentals for rehearsals, getting our props from Tijuana, México are not really considered challenges and we definitely can tackle them.
