Leonard Cohen once told NPR it took him as long as 10 years to finish some of his songs... I was starting to worry this project was following suite.  Alas, we are done, released and ready to ship. The Ltd. Edition DVD/CD you all made possible is beautiful.

Dear Friends,

here is quick update on the Ltd Edition DVD (mock up shown above).  

MEGALODON Multimedia, based out of Brookings Oregon, is handling our manufacturing. We just received and "approved" the soft proofs the job.  This is the first hurdle in the manufacturing process to make sure the digital art is correct.  You can see a couple images below and if you would like get a preview of the entire job scroll to download the full pdf file.

We don't have an ETA yet on final delivery but I assume that Megalodon will give us a better idea hopefully soon.  The Ltd Edition will be bound in a hard cover booklet with fabric cover and contain the original Cd and bonus DVD which contains 12 films and 5 bonus audio tracks.

Just thought we'd let you know we got the master back for the DVD and everything has been sent out to manufacturing.  We do not have an ETA yet but we will let you know more as we get the info.

Greetings friends

We are way overdue for many things including an update.   Our goal on the final ltd edition dvd was back in April.  For reasons both personal and production oriented - That did not happen! Our biggest set back in the final delivery of the ltd edition (for those of you funded at that level) has been film editing.  That has been completed.  I happy to say the DVD will contain 12 films.  Several of them are official videos of the songs, others are studio clips with background on the project (the making of etc) and others are live performances.  Together the films are comprised of 4 different filmmakers.  The editing a compiling of these films took us much longer than we ever anticipated. Thank you for your patience.

 With the editing completed, we started authoring the DVD.  This unfortunately has been another set back.  For reasons I am not always clear on, the authoring has major complications.  As of last week the master worked fine in a computer but still had hangups in a standalone DVD player. As a result we have sent the project out to different media professional to re-author it with a fresh set of eyes. We are told that this should take another week then we can send it to the manufacture.

On the manufacturing front, I have worked diligently with our bookbinder to create a totally unique package for the project.  The manufacture has already sent us a production mock up and the construction of the book bind looks great!  They are ready and waiting for our master and if all goes well it should be another month or so once they receive to receive the final product.

ALBUM LAUNCH AND PRESS CAMPAIGNYour generous funding has thus far distributed our pre-release and launched a press campaign resulting in some amazing reviews of the album.  To name a few…

Blurt Magazine gave it 9 out 10 Stars!  Emusic featured us on their review page with 4 ½ out of 5 Stars. Performer Magazine, Big Takeover, The Vinyl District, and Seattle Weekly to name a few have all come out with fantastic reviews.  And in one of our proudest moments the editorial staff of iTunes had this to say:

promos have also been submitted around the country, one in particular is KEXP who has added us in their library for requests either on-air or streaming.  If you are a KEXP listener then please send an email to your favorite dj (dj@kexp.org) to request a song of the record (we are suggesting Weeds).  The album was also recently featured on the BBC Australia - which is cool.

LIMITED EDITION CD. & FILMsThe last step towards this project is the LIMITED EDITION CD. Here is an update.

The Limited Edition has been completely paid for manufacturing-wise. The plant is awaiting artwork and masters to start their production.  The design has been completed and we are going over last minute tweeks to the layout.  The Bonus Acoustic EP is done and mastered. Our holdup has been film editing.  The project is to include at least 5 videos alongside the ep.  We did not anticipate however how time consuming the editing would be and did not budget accordingly.  Our primary filmmaker Todd Zeller has committed himself to the project as a labor of love - but has to take other paying work to stay afloat which slowed down the project.  To speed things up we raised additional funds from business donations to help Todd prioritize the project.  To do so we partnered with a 501(c)3 to allow tax deductible donations. Currently we have received support from IMAGE JOURNAL, and STORYVILLE COFFEE, which have made it possible for us to move this project forward with 3 of the 5 videos now fully completed.  If you know of others who might like to join our donors please email me and I will provide more info.
