Hello and welcome to THE BEAST PAGEANT Kickstarter page!
THE BEAST PAGEANT is about a man who goes on an adventure.
Abraham lives in a confined apartment where his only companion is a giant machine. Inside the machine is a man and a woman who take care of Abraham's every need. In this mechanical world Abraham slogs through daily life until a tiny singing cowboy bursts from his body and leads him into the wild.
THE BEAST PAGEANT is a feature film full of fantastical characters, costumes, puppetry, animation and original music. It was shot on 16mm with a Bolex camera rescued from a dumpster. With the help of our friends, family and community we've been able to keep the production entirely independent. From sets to costumes to music everything was made from scratch. We've finished filming and editing -- now we're working on sound. Every footstep, door creak and howling monster needs to be recorded.
We hope to use our Kickstarter funds for sound and recording equipment. We also need to finish special effects and all the other technical work that goes into readying a film for release. This last push to finish the project is beyond our means right now. With your help we'll be able to fulfill our dream of showing THE BEAST PAGEANT at festivals and theaters across the country!
