We would like to give a huge THANK YOU to all 66 of the amazing people that have backed our project and helped us raise $4,192!  Without your support, this project wouldn't be possible.  You will be getting a survey from us shortly so we can ship you "the goods."

We still have ONE WEEK left to raise money for our book!  Though we set our goal at $4000, we really need $6000 to reach the full potential of this book.  The extra $2000 will help us handle printing, copyright, ISBN, barcodes, shipping the book from our publisher, KickStarter fees, and getting perks out to all of you awesome backers.  Any extra exposure you could lend to our project via your Facebook or other internet hangouts would be greatly appreciated.

With a little over 2 weeks left, we are a little over halfway with $2,365!  A BIG HUGE THANK YOU to the 38 awesome people that have backed this project!

Warrior Writers is currently engaged in the hustle and bustle of putting together this book!  All you $40+ backers will be really pleased with the product!

While putting together our bios of awesome veterans, I found one that personally spoke to me.  I shall leave you with this from one of our wonderful participants, Iris:

“The focus of my work is on creative expression as a medium for social consciousness. I was not socially conscious when I deployed for Operation Enduring Freedom in January 2002. I was not fully informed when I joined the Marine Corps six years prior. It was not until I returned home to Chicago that I began to see that, indeed, war touches all of our lives and that there is, in fact, no freedom to be endured. On the streets, in our schools, in our families, in our communities, there is evidence of the dysfunction and starvation all caused by war and violence. My only hope is to capture this reality in my writing and photography in order to try to make sense of a world that no longer does.”
