ABOUT THIS PROJECT
OFF HOLLYWOOD is an independent feature-length motion picture currently in production in Hollywood, California. At this point 95 percent of our comedy (35mm film) is shot and edited, with only the ending left to shoot.
In our story a halfwit playwright is called by the Ghost of Orson Welles to save Hollywood from its doldrums of sequels, prequels, remakes and spin-offs. As a means to an end, our hero ("Davis Davis"), along with his misguided cohorts, tries to make an “adult film” in order to fund the epic movie that he is convinced will fulfill the ghost's prophecy and restore Hollywood’s faded glory and greatness.
Blinded by art and clueless about pornography, Davis’ production of “Jack Hammer: Special Agent” rests on the reluctant shoulders of his friend (and first-time porn actor), Mike. The group struggles through an odyssey of misadventure and mistakes, as they try desperately to deliver an adult film in five days to their menacing and mysterious backer, “Mr. X.”

Where does the money go?
Your contributions will pay for equipment, cast and crew during the remaining shoot days. Funds raised beyond our goal here would be added to our post-production fund and used to enhance the production value of the finished movie.
The Filmmakers
We are first-time filmmakers who have worked professionally in the movie industry for more than 25 years collectively. We are not Hollywood “players” or “posers,” but a couple of guys who drove to Hollywood a long time ago, and have slept on sofas and made sacrifices for the opportunity to make a movie like “Off Hollywood.” This production owes its existence to the tireless and selfless efforts of our devoted cast and crew, who have truly embraced the independent spirit of filmmaking and helped put us in a position to finish this movie here with you.

JOSEPH O'DONNELL grew up in Collinsville, Illinois, and has lived and worked in Hollywood for twelve years as a writer, director and a commercial actor. Before beginning production of "OFF HOLLYWOOD," he directed, "Friendship Auction," a documentary film and he co-wrote the screenplay, "Wingman," with Mace Lombardo, which was optioned for television.
MACE LOMBARDO grew up on Long Island, New York, and has lived and worked as an actor in Los Angeles for the past twelve years, doing national commercials and TV shows, such as BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. He wrote the critically acclaimed play, MAN RANCH, and has collaborated with Joseph O'Donnell on several TV and film projects.
