Update #16: Blessings from Ganesha
Hello from Hua Hin, Thailand!
It's been a bit of a rocky road for us on our way to the fishing cats. Flooding in Bangkok, turned a two day trip into a circuitous week-long route from Bankok --> Phuket --> Surat Thani --> Hua Hin --> Khao Sam Roi Yot and back to Hua Hin. Mo fell victim to many a travelers' bane after indulging in a questionable fruit smoothie.
We have learned a few good travel tips along the way, if you should ever head to Thailand, not the least of which is that the Thai people are a caring lot. We are no longer worrying about things going perfectly, and are just going with the flow of events, always keeping fishing cats in our sights.
Please enjoy this little video, Ganesha Blessing, that we made when Joanna found a shrine to Ganesha, The Remover of Obstacles, on the rooftop of our hotel. Such a sign couldn't have come at a better time. Tomorrow, Namfon, finally escaping a flooding Bangkok, will pick us up to venture once more into fishing cat country.

An accredited zoologist turned science communicator, she splits her time working with non-profits, research institutes and magazines to help engage the public in wanting to understand our planet. Her work has appeared in such places as Smithsonian, National Wildlife Magazine, Nature Conservancy multimedia, High Country News and NationalGeographic.com's Photo of the Day.
Joanna (Jo) Nasar is a multimedia producer, videographer and writer who specializes in environmental projects. She has a Master’s in Journalism and Mass Communications with a Graduate Certificate in Environment, Policy and Society from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Her work has appeared in such places as American Cowboy and Backpacker.
